I am not sure the accuracy of your weapon matters in regards to massive weapons, which is currently the thing making swashbucklers unplayable. (It's bad enough they tend to lose fights against mercs/barbs with weapons like epees/rapiers.) I have no idea to the mechanics, but something tells me that massive weapons have a check regarding whether you even get a chance to parry/block it, which is independent of anything you can do to raise your success to do so.

Not true. I've always described massive as follows:

- Massive weapons are harder to parry/shield block

It's just a penalty to the other guy's chance to parry/shield block you and the parry penalty can be directly offset with more accuracy. Accuracy won't help offset the shield block penalty, but that's not a swashies concern.

PS. StylesP are you really going to keep using this account? I allowed it at the time because I figured it was just a joke response to the Necro thread, but if it's for real, then you need to contact me about a handle change.

Give a swashie two no-dachis and they are massive wielders!

No-dachi aren't massive weapons, last I knew.

Yeah, you'd have to give them two bastard swords, or just wield a claymore, heh.

I approve of this topic, due to it is for the buff of swashies.

Swashies definitely need a buff. I'd also say give swashies whip, buff Whips, give certain whips reach, since most whips are at least as long as halberds. Maybe give swashies third attack at expert to buff their damage per round?

I'm really not too convinced that swashies need a buff. No one has even bothered playing one recently, although Trag's harlie swashie before all the recent buffs was the only reason Tolene v1.0 and Tarconus died, and that swashie was a deep-elf, so yeah.

I was going to argue, then I remembered that Sargas rolled a swashie and that at least I'll have him on my side. They definitely need a buff. They're too squishy and too fragile to other front-row classes. I'd like to see super-dodge and super lightning weapon speed type buffs to make them more realistic.

I realize that you have played a swashie, Jennbo, but did you swashie ever reach lightning dex in a PvP situation with mood defensive up? You would have seen some "super-dodge" if so, I bet.

I have a feeling that with the speed enchantments to massives that swashies are going to need some love, BUT I haven't seen any swashies since the buff to parrying massives on mood defensive, and I also am not positive whether the weapon enchant system should be considered a buff to swashies, a nerf to them, or just neutral.

Takuma was a Harlie and had lightning dex in a PvP situation up before while in mood defensive while not in formation and, let me tell you, it's not that big of a deal. Massives own swashies.

Just the fact that you need a pet in front of you to not instadie in this game but swashbucklers can't do anything from row 2 is pretty devastating.
