Tumble would be good, but I'd like an ability like was said before, a retreat type specifically for rogues. To control which direction only I am able to go to, with or without them seeing that.

Alot of people play rogues because they want to be assassins.. Which use poisons, but there is no way I know of that let's us coat our blades in venom. This got me thinking that maybe rogues need a small spell set of maledictions, not like plague or curse as those seem to far fetched, but poison, invis or even fly?

There are ways to apply plague/poison to your blades - look around in Teron.

edit--meant plague not curse

It might be interesting to entertain ideas that moved beyond builder-based content, too.

I think the sneaking through doors would be pretty cool.
But the retreat idea is pretty good as well... I would like to see something along the lines of those smoke bombs that ninjas throw at their feet... You instantly go hidden and are sneaking and you retreat to a different room. it doesn't inform the enemy which way you retreated.

Id like to see rogues get an ability to stay off the who list. An ability to conceal items from locate, and give lock picking a small chance to unlock the plethora of doors and chests that cant be picked (PC's would have this ability strictly, so no charms picking).

This would ultimately cheese areas you're supposed to have to find a key for by allowing a determined rogue to just sit there spamming pick. Pick is an awesome ability without this.

I think you overestimate the ability to land a backstab when its easy enough to quaff detects, check the who list, and place a pet or guard NPC behind you before engaging rogues. Rogues are easily countered and a conceal ability would help. Maybe something with a short timer on it, nothing too OP.

Rogues should get an advanced lock picking ability. They need to bring something to the table so people need them around. Many of the doors that cant be picked require some sort of assistance from someone who has previous knowledge of the keys location. Doors and chests give no hint as to where the keys can be found ie "A leaf patterned key for a leaf patterned chest"
Now im not saying give them the ability to break people out of locked jail cells, (even though that would be pretty awesome). I'm simply saying, throw them a bone cuz they need the love.

It would be nice if rogues got a lore like ability for locks that where unpickable. For example, Pick flame. It seems the flame portal can only be unlocked with a shard of flame. Would then need to locate the actual key but its something.

I think people forget that rogues do have one of the most useful and deadly abilities in the game ... recite.

i like the idea of lock lore. I am also a fan of various stealth skills, silent actions, who list invisibility, a rogue should be the king of stealth. escaping combat seems like a decent idea. I say no to picking unpickable locks.
