Hey Styles: Tell us who you really are and who you play. Then everyone can determine whether your opinion on PK should be taken as seriously by everyone else as you obviously do.

Otherwise, stop bothering everyone with your theorycrafting that has no actual examples except "Zerel totally deleted because he was OP, his afterlife said so."

Not that I truly care one way or another of the pros and cons of playing a Necromancer or if they are over powered or not. But the string of people that haven't a clue what they are talking about in this thread is rather amusing.

Though the one I enjoy the most is Edoras's babble of what a Necro can't do. Never seen such weak and poorly thought out examples or rather excuses to defend his classes power. Though Styles (Who in my opinion really should just be ignored since they are too scared to reveal who they really are) already cut some of them down.

Quote:
You know what a necro can't do? Necros can't protect other PCs.

Still makes me laugh the hardest. So basically what you're saying a Necromancer can't put animates / controls in front of people in a group to provide a damage buffer? Have all animates / controls lost access to the skill rescue? Necromancers are the biggest pet zerging class in the game and yet you find they can't protect anyone?

I'd cut the rest down using the skills wand / staves / scrolls, but Styles already went there to a degree, feel free to use your imagination to take it farther as it pretty much gives them access to just about everyone spell in the game. But I'm done.

Since, several "elite" players have debunked the suckiness of the necro, can we at least get back to about how to make this game balanced? I know D already recognized some of Style's points. So, knowing that they are most likely valid lets move to make it constructive.

how on earth isn't it obvious that especially with the recent changes necros are extremely overpowered? I propose two things:

1. remove dispel magic from necros

2. If they remove from group an undead, (so that they make more than 8 of them follow them) make it get dispelled immediately

The recent changes no doubt disrupted balance in a variety of ways. I think the answer is to tweak those changes appropriately, instead of reworking all the classes.

FYI: If this thread is still going on with the idea of swaying me one way or another, you don't have to worry about posting further.

If I'm on the fence, yes.

D,

With all due respect I'm calling BS. You are not swayable. This is a known fact. Mortals are incapable of swaying the gods. :)
