Thuban. Also, try to play a warlock and use their most powerful spell on mode stun--magma spray. Also, try to have your elemental with you in a duel. It does not even allow the basic of pets.

Note: it was noted earlier that if you tried to type mode stun while in a duel.

plague and poison also cannot be used on mode stun which is a big deal for hellions at least.

You can't use any pets in duelist guild rules which precludes mounted knights from fighting on horseback (not necassary but fun for rp) and sorcerors from using a charm, warlocks from using elementals ect ect. I'm sure you can see where a sorceror with no charm is going to get messed up by anyone who can bash, its not an accurate reflection of the class.

Also you can't use outside magical means, like you can't eat a flight herb.

However you can use innate magical means. And by this I mean that there are certain items which don't just give you a spell, that give you that spell innately, so you can still cheat around the duelist guild.

There's also jerks like me who way back in the day when people used the duelist guild a LOT, I used to have vore stun my sprite so I'd go inside the guild and then he'd go around dueling people across the realms and as soon as they were inside the guild hall "safe" I'd kill them and loot them. There's pretty much absolutely no defense against that save being the first person inside there.

On a side note, I think the only thing really irking people about your post B00ts is that you're saying just because you personally haven't seen it with your own two eyes, you're claiming it doesn't happen. You also basically sound like you're taking the stance that every hellion and paladin in the realms should personally come by you and duel each other so you can personally bless their rp. People are explaining, although a bit harshly in some cases, that it does happen. There's tons of logs of this happening. You're just not looking in the right forums for them.

Yeah, the magma spray, plague, and poison things could use some adjustment, I think. Maybe the affects wear off after the duel is over. Makes it too easy to accidently kill someone the way it is, and makes it a little less fair.

No one understands you boots.
You're so Emo.

You're the one who needs to quit being touchy. You are given answers and cry more because they are not the ones you wish to hear. Do you associate with hellions and paladins ICly? That could be one reason why you don't see anything. Are you yourself a dirty knave IC? Some RP that the honorless deserve little more than a "I will kill you sometime in the future" message.

I would like to contribute as well mentioning that for more than six OOC years i have never used the system with any of my pallies/hellions. Even if it was perfect, you end up NEAR DEATH in that hellpit called TERON. Do the math.

And to answer to boobs, and contribute to this discussion I would like to say... HELL i wish this was in GD... But it aint.

So behave!

Thuban,

Past all the flaming, they're right about mages dueling. There should be a mage-duel option. No pets, no physical combat. You just throw spells at each other until someone drops. Would that work?

There is more than one type of mage. Warlocks would get the shaft against wizards without an elemental. Mode stun needs to reflect that if you are using magma spray, poison, or any other effect that is persistant, it will just end if you are at a stunned point. Also, allow one pet in the duel. This will also help a class that is severly dependent on one: ranger.

Answer me this.

Why HARDCODE a new duel system, or fix the already existing "broken" one, since we DO NOT NEED IT?

Can't you just set up the rules and stick to them, and duel outside the guild? For being such crybabies, i have seen countless duels between ANY class duel without the guild to a set of acceptable rules from both sides.

Why do you need to be enforced by code into something that can be RP'ed out?
:-?

This is a fantastic idea and should be taken further. Why do we need a combat code at all? I mean, we can just RP all battles out, that'd be so much sweeter than relying code.
