DA, read my post again. I said I was in favor of -slightly- buffing the chances of wisdom checks succeeding against taunt and adding order lag. I'm saying yes, the skill is quite powerful and a few minor nerfs perhaps may be in order.


As far as a taunt from a 5 man group landing on a single merc...mercs have really low wisdom, and there is always a chance that anything will land. Remember frollith with his 60 fort suit, sanc, bless, protection, ect ect getting dropped by a low level fod scroll recitation?

Sometimes crap happens.

As D have said the main taunt check comes in size of groups, to prevent taunt happy gank squads.

Taunt saves overall need to be looked into imo. As it is now it has far too high success rate.

Give hellions similar intimidate checks and I'll make a hellion again. :P

Or give intimidate's saves to taunt. Which imo is a much better option.

I'm making two changes based on this thread:
1. Taunted people get a small bonus to hit and damage. They are morale affects, so they won't stack with berserk or frenzy. However, they are won't give you the berserk skill penalty because I felt that would have made taunt even stronger than it already is.
2. Lag time after taunt will be increased overall and decreased based on how well trained your charisma stat is.

Awesome. Is it possible for us to get an intimidate-check against this skill as well?

Thanks D. As well intimidate should have a chance to save against taunt. Sanctuary does and it never made sense to me that a swashi wouldn't be too scared to yell insults at a hellion.

If you're going to do that then why not give swashbucklers rescue since our main ability to get NPCs to refocus on the tank is fastly becoming more and more useless simply through the anecdotal evidence of doom that swashbucklers are vast machines of destruction and hunt down people's characters like the terminator.

Also, why are any of you clamoring for a willpower save when 95% of you won't even bother to stack the willpower save against the taunt skill. Also swashbucklers will just start maxing out charisma and art to get the best possible chance of taunting someone. It's not like people's games are going to change just because a willpower save was placed in. It'll only affect the portion of players that actually bother with saves and enchant armor.
