There was no "immortal" at the door. There was a gentlemanly bouncer who was handing out masks. I should have been smart enough to make a mask of my own, because my normal disguise skill kept slipping. However, there was nothing to distinguish me from any other PC. I had a special adjective and description for the occasion and I don't believe I'd ever greeted anyone, so if you "knew" it was me, it was only OOC knowledege.

look gentle
A human of godly stature stands before you in a pose of self assurance. His
olive skin color and slanted eyes strike you as somewhat unusual for this realm
and causes him to appear of indeterminate age. His long black hair is caught up
in a top-knot and his gaze seems to penetrate straight into the innermost depth
of your soul. He is armored in a suit of gleaming plate that has been engraved
with many images of a raised open gauntlet. As all of these images coalesce in
your mind, you realize you stand before Dulrik, the embodiment of Truth.
Overall, a gentlemanly male human is in excellent condition.
A gentlemanly male human is using:
<worn about body> a cloak of motley drab with iridescent lining (brand new)
Considering your desc tells us all that you're Dulrik, I think you're being a bit obtuse in saying that I must be using OOC knowledge - although to be fair I am, as I never looked at you. Then again, I'm not claiming anything IC, am I?
Also, if the god dulrik wasn't at the event, I'm surprised that an IC action was met with an ooc helling. So much for IC consequences for IC actions, and the lawlessness of Teron, eh.

Just to reiterate, the god Dulrik was never at the party in any IC way. I was playing a completely different role. You've heard of roleplaying, right?
Yes, I have. I have at least half the who list at any given time greeted and have for some time now and regularly go out of my way to help newbies. I think you'd be hard pressed to find too many other people in a similar situation.

I guess you are not even trying to hide which character you are playing, not that we hadn't all guessed. Who else likes to skirt the boundaries of the rules in such a lawyer-like fashion?
Though I suspect you've just given it away I don't think it really mattered that I said "I fireballed a room for it" as I was wearing a mask at the time, so nobody knew my identity. Oops! Luckily for both of us, I suspect, I have indeed started telling people who I play, since my RP has largely been ruined.

Also, there's no need to make stuff up. 'HAR HAR'? There was nothing of the sort. This is where you need to recognize that your poor attitude colors your reality. The exchange was more like:
I don't think anyone is under the illusion that I was directly quoting you. If I had been, I would have used quote tabs, as I have above. Similarly, I'm sure nobody is under the illusion that you are directly quoting the situation either. But let's face it, this is what happened: people were understandably getting upset at a wait that was minutes long to even enter the event, and when someone (no matter how poorly) voiced it, you told them they could feel free to go someplace else.
Dulrik, you asked for opinions here. I gave mine. If you're going to attack me about it and give away my character's identity, I just wish you had in fact said "praise me for my work" instead of "if you want to talk further about the ball, you can do so here" and "What could the staff have done better in handling it?".
