However, alas, it seems Dulrik has probably checked out. Further new features and/or modifications of the current that require coding are put on indefinite hold.

Dulrik, if you ever read this, you know, a post by you, even if it's once a month, yeah, I am not exaggerating or being sarcastic, even if it's once a month would be quite encouraging and perhaps give us enough motivation to play.

Here's a post. I took a sabbatical from the game for about 3 months (ironically due to the crushing work load at my job). I started having some free weekends two weeks ago and started paying attention again. I was avoiding posting while I caught up with the forums, as once I do, people will expect me to know and respond to everything that's going on. I'm actually still reading stuff written in July, but I got a PM about this post, so here I am. I did write and add a code update to the game last weekend, but it was stuff to help out immortals so you wouldn't notice anything different. I'll be working on writing more code on weekends going forward. But please don't flood the board with feature requests right now. I have a backlog of items to address.

As for this post about the law system, I don't feel like it is a major contributor to stagnation. As mentioned by others, it's been tweaked to have more gradations in penalties and you can even serve your time now while you are not playing the game, so I don't think it's the barrier that it's made out to be. At this point, the only tweak I'd think about making is to make the bounty spawning areas a little more controllable by builders. Main cities are what should be most heavily patrolled. Many of the other less-populated areas should probably have less hunters in a manner similar to the wilderness.

FYI - Getting naked, emptying your bank account and stashing your gear to surrender is illegal and will get you helled at the least.

So would dying somewhere, and then going naked to serve your jail time worthy of the same punishment, if so some Hellion currently needs to have his corpse and the rest of his junk destroyed.

SK is supposed to be about the Journey, not the Destination.

Well, let me rephrase... It is about the journey, not the time at the end when you type delete delete whilst staring at a prison wall.

Also... TL;DR.

Unless you're a total douchenozzle, or the Trib leader is (or is inactive), you can usually RP your way out of prison time.

The problem with that? Nobody on SK can handle RPing anything other than "I AM THE BIGGEST BADASS TO EVER LIVE. YOU [REDACTED] WITH ME AND I WILL EAT YOUR BABIES AND [REDACTED] ON YOUR GRAVE! LET ME OUT OF HERE OR I'LL KILL YOU! RAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!"

I tried to RP someone who wasn't a badass, but I wound up with a 43:3 K:D ratio, and everyone started treating my character like he was a badass, making things difficult for me.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm a badass.

I didn't read this thread, but as far as the law code is concerned, it's a lot better than it used to be. I would make two changes: cap the amount of jail time someone can be sentenced to at 50 days or something, and cap the number of bounty NPCs that can spawn for a single person at 3.

Then leave it as it is?

I never had huge crime lists because I either surrendered, forgot to keep auto surrender off, convinced people to pardon me, or played harlequins. Has it always been capped at three?

Except that three bounty NPCs per city room makes it impossible to PvP.

Only if you're fighting someone with range, and if you don't have range and if you aren't in the MC/harlequin/crucible/druid
