No, I apologized because he's right. Besides, I was...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIjUY3pjN8E

Well, not really, but I was born in Louisiana. Obviously not giving the city because I mean...the answer to a security question used on many sites.

You live in Louisiana. Do you live near the toxic waste dump site known as the Gulf of Mexico?

This thread just got derailed hard, but it wasn't actually my fault...

No, I said I was born in LA. I currently live in NC, but I lived in Southeast Arkansas until I was 18. Went to college in Utah, not because Mormons, but because I got into a college that had bachelor's degrees in 2 years, got mine in 2 years and 3 months because lazy. School every day 8-5 on the quarterly system all year round.

I moved back home after college because it was difficult to get a job, but I got one in Northeast Arkansas and lived there for a year and a few months. I found a job in NC and made the move in Dec. 2011.

I'm looking to move to Miami, FL in October, and after a couple of years living there, I want to move to California. That's as far as the future living that I've thought out.

TL;DR No.

If you're talking about someone playing solo PvP, necro can be hard countered by paladins, mercs, warlocks, scouts, sorcerers, lightie priests, bards, or members of the Peacekeepers or Guardians. There are many other classes who are not hard-countered by so many options. They also can't guarantee kills except for order bash. I'm not too certain as to how they can make #1 on your lists of best "solo PKers" unless you are assuming a vast disparity in prep or ability.

Necromancers are just blatantly worse than sorcerers at this point. That doesn’t mean that necros are a trash class. They are still close to the top of the pack imo. However, I don’t think it is a fluke that the only successful necros since I started playing were played by the best PKers in the game: Trag, Peso, Edoras, Thran, Syn, Mitch. I also don’t think it is a fluke that each of these players has had way more success playing other classes. Syn was way more effective with just about every other class she has played, and the same can be said for everyone I listed.

Perhaps this has more to do with my strengths and weaknesses as a player, but the reason I never played a necromancer is plain and simple: I don’t think I would be hugely successful with the class.

Necromancers definitely excel at fighting groups of clueless newbs, though. Most other classes have a much, much, harder time fighting 1v4, even when there is a huge disparity in skill. This is probably why there is such disagreement over this.

You live in North Carolina. Problem solved. No wonder you believe that swashbucklers can beat bards.

On the discussion of "most effective solo PvP" classes, necros are surely not a trash class. However, they are also not the best, they have way too many counters and no trade-offs in their stead: Sorcs are more defensive casters whose charms don't get BoG'ed and shamans/hellions are insanely more survivable for maledictions. Were necros not forced through RP to be at war with the character-base of the mud that is almost guaranteed to possess one of their many counters, they wouldn't be in such a hard place. However, now that they've had their legs cut out from under them via the animate dead nullification, they're just an exercise in frustration and not very enjoyable from a mechanics side of things.

I suppose a bard could 1v1 a swashie, but that's only if the bard has access to some strong INT mods and the swashie doesn't have access to deafness.

Oh yeah. Sorry, ardith. I thought that just living in North Carolina didn't mean you all of a sudden believed swashbucklers could beat bards because I haven't actually thought of it from your perspective, therefore, my knowledge on the matter was lacking.

Sorry, you lost all credibility when you ranked swashbuckler as good. Your adherence to doing Schedule I Drugs prohibited by the Controlled Substances Act has damaged everything you once stood for. I suggest you report your aberrant behavior to the DEA immediately, and face execution for your crimes against humanity.

RIP Edoras, he fought hard for what he believed in, but like every criminal, he fought the law, and the law won.
