That entire post just sounds butthurt dude. If a necro lands kills with nothing but order all bash, that's because his enemies are dumb and because he prepared. Melee PCs can land kills with nothing but spam bash, but only if their enemies are dumb.

I'm generally opposed to wimping any class for any reason. Honestly, if one class is steamrolling everyone, then that calls for either a re-evaluation of the tactics you are using, or perhaps if anything -MUST- be changed in the code it ought to be to buff the other classes, not wimp the one, and rob them of the tools that they need.

Long ago there use to be auto hasted scout tames that got double attacks ... They where removed on mass and it was considered using any NPC with auto haste to be a curse able offence. The fix that would be added to the NPCs was that they would become unhasteable under the charm effect. Losing auto haste on something is not as bad as not being able to ever haste it again. Considering necromancers have access to haste wands and haste scrolls to use on their undead this is not really a significant nerf.

Do these Shadowy Wights log out (and back in) when you do? If so would those be affected with the change of these NPCs?

It's really bad reasoning to justify nerfing a class into the ground because you've had experiences where you decided to ignore good tactics and repeatedly die to that class.

Is that a reference to me? Because that simply isn't true. I'm not emotionally invested in this discussion in the least. But I do read logs of one necro soloing outer guardians and other necros that boast of taking down entire parties of multiple PCs without doing more than "o all bash". There are tactics to taking down fully prepared necros, but there are far fewer logs of necros getting ganked than necros steamrolling folks.

The speed at which a necro can "prepare" to take down multiple GM heavy armor PCs and troll through cities without a care (maybe holding an ethereal wand if they're really worried) is absurd. Now you have to zap a haste wand. OH NOES, 8 seconds longer is going to break your OPd class.

Not to mention..

Greatsword normally only gives 2 attacks even when neutral/aggressive. Decent haste will bring it to 3 attacks. Fury on top of that will get you 4 attacks. It will only be a consistent 4 attacks if the haste is strong though.

This nerf to the wights seems appropriate to me.

The way you're making it sound... Bash is the overpowered ability here, not the wights.

No. A class that uses one spell, one skill, and utilizes one NPC has a problem. A necro will invest their concentration in three controls and be unable to cast cause light, rather than two controls and be able to cast FoD/maledictions.

Control undead/ Wands/ Shadowy wights.

And with a certain cabal skill that each necro currently uses, no need for trance, meditation, or resting ever.

Archaicsmurf, your previous post just proved nothing besides the fact that you clearly have no experience of the necro class's mechanics. You should try actually playing a necro before you start making extremely incorrect sweeping statements about their playstyle.

I can easily hold three controls and still cast FoD btw. It is just not worth it since the lag can kill you. I want to see people [REDACTED] when I roll around with 5 controls and a tribunal NPC, because you can easily do that.
