Help class doesn't have the layout I expected. Priest should be move out of the second bracket. Bards get their own bracket since they don't have meditation but rely heavily on mana to train. lolwut?

I'm not sure how you classify your bracket system except something to do with the mediation skill and how much mana is used?

Help class is broken out into the 4 general base class types: warrior, adventurer, clergy, magic-user.

Merc is your basic warrior type. Barb + swash are more specialized warriors.
Rogue is your basic adventurer type. Scout + bard are more specialized adventurers.
Priest is your basic clergy type. Paladin + hellion + shaman are more specialized clergy.
Sorc is your basic magic-user type. Necromancer + warlock are more specialized magic-users.

The GM token is a decent idea.
At 2,000 hours of logged time you get a GM token?
Maybe not 2000 but a large amount of time to encourage a long lived character. And encouragement to roll another one.

That would take a lot of coding though, so I’m not too hopeful of that.

Changing the order that classes are listed doesn’t seem to be a problem at all, in my eyes. A very minor inconvenience at most.

this is the designated thread for futilely screaming into the void now, right?

a way to get charms and tames into certain areas would sure be nice.

I think we should have a new thread called “return previous nerfs.”
The lamp of bittered flame” would be the item you require.
Bring it back but give the ability to recall from inside it.

I wouldn't mind a GM token, but I'll be honest, the idea of a character completely skipping any RP involved in getting there is a bit meh. I'd rather it be more of a finisher token, get to X status, and then it'll take you the rest of the way to GM or Champ.

If we’re looking for a token to skip champ to GM or something like that, maybe it could be just a set amount of exp that gets dumped into your character.
You could use it at creation to get exp to have enough exp to train level to maybe vet? Or you could use it at vet to jump to mentor? Or at champ to get to GM. Or you could use it to jump from champ to GM. (Idk what the exp conversion would be) but maybe it shouldn’t auto-level. You have to find a trainer to train level. That way you could also use it at GM and use it to have enough XP to train all your skill spells. Probably should get 10 obsidian dropped on you so you have enough money to train skill/spell/level.

Any chance of getting to be able to use LTs on the character who earns them?

As the system currently works, it seems to be incentive to /not/ play the same character for a long time. Which I think is the opposite of the desired effect.

I think the goal was to get players to come back after finishing a character.
It’s incentive to roll a new. But I think the psychology of it is flawed.

We should be embracing longer-lived characters. And making LT’s available o the character that earns them would do that.
The current system encourages shelfing/retiring your main so your new can use all the LT’s that you farmed.

I think making LT’s available to the character that earns them would be a good workaround until the new LT system is implemented. Algorab mentioned ideas that were thrown around about two types of LT’s. Some can be used on the current and some can be used on the next.

But at the very least I still want to see your newest LT’s used first. Kyln is hindered by me wanting to redeem mastery on an alt. I can’t redeem mastery on the alt because then Kyln can’t redeem Rez anymore. It’s killing me! Lol
