Jman, who cares? If you want to twink at those low levels, it's really not going to hurt anyone. I just thought it was funny when the sprite called you a donkey-face. GMs, though... :evil:

The only thing sad-assed is the inability of people to type more than three letters when they want to look at someone.

I named my pet with the first five letters of my adjective (which is over seven letters itself) the other day, and tossed in a random letter at the end. Then I went and sat in Nerina and Teron and Exile for a bit just to watch. One guy looked at me FOUR TIMES before he was finally able to target me instead of my horse.

That = lazy.

B-a-r-r-e-l

That is six and I think it stopped there because I don't think hyphens are allowed in pet names.

Not a matter of being lazy. No reason I should be targetting the pet by it's name when I have no clue as to what it is.

Yes it was a great cheater move, I am sorry you taught it to me and everyone else. It is a cheater move none the less.

"whaaa whaa whaa lazy wha whaaa"

You shouldn't have to rely on cheap tricks and loopholes.

I think I'm relying on your laziness, above anything and everything else.

:lol:

The game was coded so that players could be lazy. If the designers didn't want this, you would have to type out the whole word every time, rather than being able to "c ha sw fla" to Cast Harm Southwest at the Flame-haired whatever.

Careful, Othet, you're putting your role of witty commentator in jeopardy with the actual arguments...

There are indeed other MUDs that do not allow any abbreviations for this very reason. Do you really want that?

Well this isn't the first time this discussion has come up. Maybe when sketchy stuff like this is brought up in the forums the immstaff can take a stand and say whether or not it's cheating so the players can either know and just deal with it or stop because it's against the rules. I know that banishment thread in GD could use a clear explanation as to what would be abuse and what isn't.
