I was also using the sacred loot at the time finny and I didn't care if I died. I was going with the whole "dying in battle is glorious go sargas yay" rp.

As Cyra stated, once I switched back to adamantite I almost never died, but I think you were long gone at that point.

No, I didn't use dominates very much. I pretty much only used them to kil NPCs with. I started playing with them in pk once I aged a bit and had higher Int but even then they were far more trouble than they were worth.

The only class I had any trouble against with slayne solo was a very well enchanted paladin. I mean for christ's sake, I couldn't ever beat peso's paladin in a duel and I got dropped by a expert paladin one time when I was just using unenchanted tanso steel cause all they had to do was bog/heal/bog and they won by attrition. I mean really, that's rediculous.

The skillset of a paladin is just made to crush a hellion...slowly. If the hellion doesn't land a crit cleave or doesn't quickly chop an arm off, then the paladin will simply win through attrition. The hellion HAS to land deafness in order to win in a straight fight. That doesn't happen very much against someone with enchants.

Basically, hellions are pretty damn sweet. If anything I'd give them a skill or something that enchants a weapon as a held spell that lets them heal a little in combat based on the damage that they inflict. That alone would put them back on equal footing with paladins since the attrition factor would be lessened. But if nothing happens to them I won't cry.

I wouldn't hold it against hellions if they have difficulty with one class. Especially if that class specializes solely in fighting evil.

Yeah it's just a rp pain in the [REDACTED] to have the champions of the dark gods get smoked by the champions of the light gods everytime.

I mean c'mon. Sargas kills Alshain like everytime they meet. Hellions should obviously mop the floor with paladins.

pshaw, you just need to bite the paladin in the face, or mike tyson him to win.

Everyone, stop bringing up dominate as a reason for hellions being strong. In three years, i haven't seen a dominate used effectively in pk, not -once-. And you better believe there have been -plenty- of very well played hellions in the past three years. I challenge any of you to come up with one time, a hellion has used a powerful dominate to win a fight.

Did you forget me? I mean, not to self-boast, but I pretty much was a dominate-only hellion. The amount of times I used the vicious barb minotaur got it wimped because often times the minotaur would kill someone before I could actually do anything (like hellfire or what not).

However, having played both a gm hellion and a gm paladin -- the paladin wins, hands down. Just hands down.

Tanks superior, does superior melee damage (to cleave strong you need a [REDACTED] melee weapon, ironically), and overall is just a better, more self-sufficent class.

Every class has another that will WTF own them. Although, some classes just have more weaknesses than others.

Of course you should. Hellions and paladins should be balanced against eachother. Hellions go out of their way to kill paladins just as much as the other way around. You can't argue that since hellfire hits everyone, hellions are better off against a wider variety of opponants, since paladins get sanctuary, which is 3x as good as hellfire and can be used against anyone.

Unless something extreme has changed since the last time I played my paladin (I say this because paladins were the ones that had the short end of the stick), I would say paladins and hellions are quite balanced.

They aren't supposed to be the same character class - paladins are supposed to be defensive warriors and support healers. Hellions are supposed to be offensive, aggressive casters with a dominate(optional) to do their bidding.

It's very easy when properly played for each class to kill each other. Hellions when they correctly get the jump on a paladin, and paladins when they are correctly prepared to fight a hellion.

I'm 90% sure that you guys are playing your class wrong.
