Can't wait to see all the Greatsword merc/barbs running around. Greatsword was kind of the only weapon on the list that was /already/ badass. And it just got a massive buff.

I was more hoping Witherwood would get his stuff together, log Aritha on, roll some faces, and post the logs. Assuming Aritha is still alive.

I don't think I've ever seen anybody parry any missiles. Does this apply to all sorts of them or just arrows, and not crossbow bolts?

Found my mistake. I just wrote the update notice wrong, which resulted in confusing everyone, including myself. Replace 'parry' with 'shield block'. It's shield block that was not being penalized when attempting to block arrows. Now it is. Parries are unchanged, so if you couldn't parry them before and you still can't parry them, that sounds right. I already changed the text for the update in the Announcements forum.
