I remember reading the log, actually. It was pretty impressive, but there were obviously ways they could have dealt with Morfinhai better.

I'm pretty sure that he was in the Keepers at the time though, and I know that he used a magma staff (In fact, he even recharged it after the first use and used it again)

"I don't understand. If you were second row, and in the same room as your opponents, and there were more than one of them. . .why didn't they just target you and win? Is there a log of this somewhere?" - Baldric

I'm a bamf when I want to be.

Also, I was in the keepers and, like a pro, I had a suit of armor that was super enchanted by Demon_Sk's sorc along with all my warlock buffs. So their damaging spells really had no effect on me. And warlock buffs are made to dodge weapons. I had weak fortitude saves though, so they did get me with the blindness finally. Warlocks can be rediculously messy to take down if you properly equip them.

I would also like to point out that fire elementals are immune to fireballs and a good warlock should be immune to them as well. So spamming fireball on the room you are in when blind is an excellent tictac. It's like the AK-47 of warlock strats.

They would be a ton better if the main damage for magma spray came in the initial blast again. Not the stick. Because you cannot stick someone twice. After the first time, lightning bolt is stronger than magma spray.

As for fire elementals, I have casted fireball on one and after a while of doing that, it kills them. While saying unnafected. I think this was bug logged a while ago.

They do not need call lightning, even though it would make sense. And the debuff added to their spells would be amazing.

AND make it so the elementals aren't on a timer. So we can make more whenever we want.

Thats the main problem i've encountered when levelling. Since I can't have a pet and my elemental, it boils down to either or. The elemental is simply superior because it can take more punishment via physical damage. However, once you start hitting the higher levels and NPCs gain magic, they simply LOVE to dispel your elemental, often succeeding on the first or second try. Accidentalyl aggro more than one, and you're fubared as 2-3+ casting dispel and your elemental is toast.

The main problem sets in after its been dispelled. You're crippled for 30 minutes real time (Ic day i believe) because, guess what, you can't summon another. Which means you have to tough it out (and iwth no form of bash or trip, NPCs acid spray, charm, color spray / blindness / edrain you) to their hearts content. So, you either have to pretty much stop levelling or hope you're near a city and go get a mount to cover for you. That means, if you're in say the chancel or so, you have to recall. And by the time you get back there, its almost time to summon another elemental anyways. Its stupid really.

Animate dead takes concentration, has a timer and can be spammed as long as you have corpses / concentration.

Make locks somewhat like this, or at least remove the timer and give the elemental concentration and make it harder to dispel. That is a warlocks main line of defense. It shouldn't be so any necro, sorc or anyone with availability to a sorc NPC (tribunals anyone?) can just omgwtf destroy an invading warlock via dispel. Thats just my 2 cp. I'm a noob I know, but i see some major glaring weaknesses in a class that seems to make them really weak. Correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm not sure of how one can make their elemental harder to dispel since they can't wear / hold equipment..

I'm really not concerned about warlock leveling. Just stop trying to level against sorcs, necros, and shamans.

I'm more concerned about their efficacy in the end game, despite Cannibal being a bamf.

Call Lightning is one of the best (and most underused) spells in the game. Giving it to Warlocks would be a massive boost. They probably need it.

This.

idk, Algon tried his hand at a lock a few months back. I asked him how he planned on actually killing anyone, and his answer involved being in a certain cabal.

And cone of cold is pretty good. I'll just mention that sorcs and necros have access to the OP wands of it, and RE still limits its damage.

My only method of playing a warlock and actually be a threat in pvp was to a) use the staves/wands that very few players have the knowledge to attain (gate + mirror image), and b) use treant/recharge and take advantage of third row pvp.

There isn't much beyond that. I also still believe that the druid skillset makes the best warlock pvper, and even then it is a sub-par combination.
