If you want to learn about rogues and poison perhaps you should find a mentor or explore things more.

Was the issue with bows in the past with their dmg that happened when they shot a room 1 or more away?

If that is so, how hard would it really be to give scouts some sort of bonus dmg for in room dmg and doesn't work beyond it?

As far as scouts go I dont think they need poisons. But their bow skills should at least be equal to mercs.
One of the major weakness of scouts is actually all the traveling magic other classes have access too.

Okay, I've been playing my scout for awhile now as I'm sure a few people know and I've spent a lot of time playing the character. I love herbalism, it's a great skill, but it's a time sink unless you only go about getting herbs for yourself. Skinning is a great skill as well, but it's a terrible time sink again and fails a lot (though that might just be my terrible luck). Ambush is a great skill and if you use it properly will take down anyone except someone in heavy armor where the damage is multiplied by a percent and if you are not doing any damage the ambush basicly becomes pointless. Now it's my belief if you're not worried about having herbs, the master level pet to hide behind or skinning and you're looking to just do ranged damage, go merc specialized in a crossbow or archery bow, you will be a lot better off with damage and accuracy, you'll still have skirmish and if you want a pet, just join a tribunal since you can do that with any character, then you basicly have a scout that's terrible in the wilderness, but in cities is far better suited, because if you end up in the front row you can, oh I don't know, trip and bash which a scout can't do, not to mention you can switch to a one handed weapon you spec'd in and a shield.
