I think everyone is missing the point.
A "weakness" is meant to give some edge to your enemies, not a total ownage.

The spell "Bolt of Glory" is totally [REDACTED] as things stand right now and does more damage to any Deep elf than it should be.

PS. If anyone thinks he can anticipate BOG with enchants, he is plainly wrong.

I'm not sure if that's the word you're looking for there. A nice suit of reflex/MP will infact give even deep-elves a good saving chance against BoG.

Not to mention delves have naturally high dexterity, which in turn adds to your reflex save, but most casters never bother to make use of that, even though it would help considerably.

Or you can simply do what Finney said, and go oldschool. Great MR on every piece of gear, you won't be touched by anything but Magma really, and there's always RE for that. Anyone whose ever enchanted anything knows how easy it is to get great MR.

Damn that MR....

Obviously you didn't read my example a few pages back.

Delear had a full suit enchanted with pieces like:
Great fort/Great reflex/Great will/Mod will/mod protection
And yes this was just a bracer...It's how your items end if you haven't died for a year and a half.

Now...If a single BOG can do 84% dmg while all other spells do 0%, then something is wrong with the spell. What is so difficult to understand?

I did read your example, I'm simply pointing out that every ability now and then has an example that's simply way out of the blue, it's certainly not the norm, nor is it common.

[REDACTED] happens, every now and then SK will just really screw you over with that random number generator. You can't wimp everything simply because one time out of a thousand something went horribly wrong.

EDIT: If we really want to nerf something here, let's nerf abilities that can -consistently- kill -any- low HP class like Voodoo, no matter what enchants you have. Eisenvahl's gear was just as well enchanted as your example 12+ enchants on each piece, and he could still be dropped by a high mana voodoo. I'd be all for getting rid of that. I just don't think BoG is the huge problem people make it out to be.

I played Sorrinius for quite a while, and honestly the nimbus only ever hit people who didn't bother enchanting there gear adequately. I fought plenty of deep-elves like my example with Sarukayn who simply laughed and ran away.
