I think it's hilarious that the MC sorc NPC is just like missing half of his spell set.

If you give enchant armor to more classes, more people will end up with enchanted suits. It's pretty straightforward.

As it is, it's mostly only higher quality pvpers who have enchanted suits because only higher quality pvpers can keep their suit once it's enchanted. Your proposal would change this.

It's pretty straightforward in that most of these people have enchanted suits anyway...I do. I don't have enchant armor. Only people with enchant armor get enchanted suits? That's not really a prudent point to make. No one is stopped from having it now, I can get people to do it for me, other people can get it done for them by other people...anyone willing to spend the time to have armor enchanted right will have it done whether they have the spell or someone else does.

Per EZE, anyone in a tribunal has it. Most cabals have their token spellcaster [REDACTED]. The argument that people shouldn't have enchanted kits, which is in essence what you're making, doesn't seem very valid.

You respond to posts very fast. See the edit in my last post. Only enchanters, and higher quality pvpers (like you) end up with enchanted suits, and I like that this is the case.

"Huh, what's armor?"

This is how I kill time at work when I'm not actually working. I kinda get into it. Sorry about being too fast.

I don't think giving more classes enchant armor would end the streak of higher tier PvPers getting enchanted armor and usually only them. It's a matter of having the gear, desire, and time. This doesn't change based on who has the spell. It's a matter of who all's time you're wasting. I just feel dirty when there are only 9 people on, making one of them do my kit instead of doing something fun. I'd much rather do my own enchanting on my own time, and spend my interaction time sparking RP or...not waiting there while they (in essence) spam for my benefit.

I don't like the idea of people being afraid to PVP without 120 enchants. I like the idea of some scrubs suddenly getting the balls to go out and start something because they don't fear being absolutely wasted...even if they still may be. I don't think the top tier limitation is beneficial to the game, if that's where you're going. People should be informed, resistant but not immune, and willing. This will breed a more competitive, light-hearted environment...granted people are good sports.

While I actually -would- like the effect this would have on game balance, as well as the fact that I would be able to enchant things for other people for a change, I think it may just encourage more solitude...

Okay screw it. I like the idea of having to bother less people to do a very boring, yet necessary task. Sorry I voted no earlier.

Turon got seduced. I don't believe it.

Time sinks are bad. Giving more people time sinks does not solve the problem. It would be a stop gap measure, at best.

If you remove debilitating spells, you do not remove the fact that enchantment is a time sink and people who sink time into it are in a different league from those who do not.

And, for the love of Pete, what kind of tribunal character without access to identify is going to be able to order enchantments productively?

It's not that I think it fixes everything about enchanting. It's just that it isn't a bad idea, and takes very little work. Assembly lines get a lot more done than cheerleaders.

Some time sinks are necessary. A game of instant gratification is the same failure on the opposite end of the spectrum as a game of endless grinding.

We have to deal with approaches that are quick and easy to apply and help as much of the problem as can be helped.

In a perfect world, it would become like skin - higher fail rate even if mastered, more chance of blowing up, but targetted.

In our world, spreading the wealth around makes the grind more player-friendly, which is all we can do if the grind is still there.
