Why not add an ability that slows the other fighter down? specialized strike that disables one of the arms. so you swing a sword slower/block with a shield less.

Depends on race, and cabal. I could see an MR Hammarb easily winning 99% of solo battles. If it's not an MR barb then the merc likely has the favor.

Add an ability that lets swashbucklers receive no penalty from being bashed, aside from being knocked prone.

Can we just give swashies third attack? That probably wouldn't overpower them and wouldn't require coming up with any new skills. Besides, some fancy pants swashbuckler wielding two light swords should get more attacks than your average knucklehead with a spear.

This is a melee class that can't bash, use a shield, or wear heavy armor. And is pretty much always stuck in the front row. Let them get a bunch of attacks if they take an aggressive stance.

From what I have seen on the threads, Baldric about this. The main issue for swashbucklers is not necessarily their dmg (while slightly low?) it has been the fact that they can't take any damage.

I'll repost this to see if maybe you guys can't read, or just don't want to debate it. Give swashies a strike, that lowers the speed/accuracy (not dirt kick) of their enemy. Firstly, will increase their ability to dodge strikes if the weapons are slower. Second it will allow the swash to slip pass the shield easier.

Skill arm strike. Independent damage strike of the swashies weapon, grants a 25 % chance to disable one of your opponents arms making their swings and blocks less effective.
There no guns no third attack and an upgraded skill for kick
