It should drain about 20% ME and 20% PE (for example) and make PE cost be raised significantly when in combat.

Well then that's another problem with necros then, restore the Dracolich to controllability, it's not like it was OP.

There is already a spell that makes you resist holy/light and gives a ranged miss chance? Or one that buffs undead?

If you're talking about E-Drain, then yeah, one of the two ideas I threw out has its similarities to a religious spell, but alot of the religious spells are close to already existing spells in one way or another. It's also not exactly the same, and I'd much rather an entire class have one of its unique abilities fixed then have 1/12th of a classes be protected from "ability infringement".

How about making death shroud increase their save vs cancellation/hw/etc. Make the bonus to save scale with level.
