I love Mins idea.

Minette is the genius behind the "You shouldn't be able to sleep while your pulse is racing" idea. I trust nothing she says.

The problem is not the outer planes. It's not like it's a hard work to get to the portal of flames for example within 5 mins anyway without using a gate target there.

The problem is mainly the islands around the area with the winds or even worse some far away areas past lots of aggro NPCs.

Anyway, this change makes rift a much stronger option now, especially scrolls of rift. Gate scrolls are good also, but not as powerful as rift scrolls.

But how many characters will knot how to get there upon creation? I know I'm one that doesn't. Or is it safe to say we can use use info learned from another character to get to such areas?

Eventually someone will take your new character there before he hits GM or shortly afterwards. Be it a wastelands trip, a ToM trip, a mithril lion trip, anything.

Seriously, getting to the portal of flames needs 5 mins exactly and fighting 10 NPCs tops(only 4 of which might hurt a bit).

I found the wastelands with ease on my character, only things I saw to attack was a few Xandu creatures which they didn't seem like a big deal.

The spire watcher was my idea. He was added as a part of a quest and a solution to the gate anchor. I'm fine with adding more unique NPCs in specific places that could be gated to. That is the solution which will follow Dulrik's code change and let gate be more useful with more specific targets.

This change is extremely inconvenient, but if more gate targets are added, especially on islands such as Owyran, I can live with it. For people who do not have the ability to control the weather, the winds can be incredibly annoying. What bugs me here is not the change. Is it a good one? No, not in my opinion. Was it to be expected? Yes. The thing I find frustrating is the principle of chastising the entire playerbase for the idiocy of a bunch of people. Sure, it's effective, but it is not fair. I feel as if I am being punished for something I didn't do. Next time a form of abuse occurs, perhaps you should consider this.

Golden Rule, much?

Wow. Just wow.

Lolth, reading you posts with holier-than-thou attitude on a regular basis can certainly be amusing, but when it is spiked with irony, then we have to begin to wonder what your ulterior motives are.

Lolth's gray aura character, Caelestis of Midnight Council roleplayed a devout follower of Sargas religion, but would not actually receive the religion flag so she could use spirit aura. Fine, fine, there has been other examples of this type of characters, it is not as if she was the first, nor last.

When offensively charmed by an enemy player, Lolth's Caelestis then went ahead and quaffed word of recall to get out of any possible roleplaying whatsoever. But wait a minute. We cannot do that any more. Oh! That's right, because Lolth brought that change for us with her actions.

Now Lolth, please read over what you just wrote above in that quote. Do you really have to post with that attitude of yours all the time? You think you are good?

We do wonder, Lolth.
