Don't know what to say about this. Shops were already cluttered with this much information. In my opinion, splitting the information so that it is consistently on two lines makes it much easier to read.

While I cannot think of one at the moment, I am concerned that the MR change allows other classes to cast some high-level non-offensive fast-casting spell to actually output more healing for less cost/cast-time.

You might have included cast-time in the formula, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Overall, it looks veeeeery good. :D

Alright, so two things on this update:

Quote:
Group members automatically update speed to match their leader

I really don't get the logic behind this. It is often beneficial for a person to be faster or slower than the leader, and updating the speed of a person to match the leader has little or no logical value. Please enlighten me?

Completing quests below your level reduces earned XP

mundufisen has a point. Most players won't bother with the lower quests for a few reasons:

First, there's little motivation too. I'm not a twink by any means, but I can level any race/class combo to Veteran in 20 hours (with RP). Some combinations can be done in less than 10 (with RP). Given what I've seen so far (which is still too early to be perfectly sure), leveling didn't get extraordinarily tougher than it was before. So I'm making the assumption that I won't have to spend an exponential amount of time more to level past Veteran. A bit, sure, but not a ton. So, for pure convenience factor, it's easier just to watch TV and grind then it would be to actively pay attention to the MUD and go on a quest. My guess is that it's highly probable most people won't touch the lower lvl quests, unless they're desperate for even the half amount of XP they get out of it.

Secondly, let's look at the type of quests in the game. There are, now, way to many quests for anyone (save, maybe, one or two IMMs) to know them all, but I'd venture to guess there are not a ton of "Go kill nearby NPC and return to me". Since they exist, let me touch on them momentarily. I can't speak for them all, but I know a few that are probably mis-leveled. Let's take the Azatlyn (Taslamar Judge) one. I went there and tried to do the quest at Apprentice. After all, the area the quest was located in started at Apprentice, so why would it be too soon? Let me sum it up and say that my character was *promptly* a**-raped and died - long before I ever reached the objective of the quest. And there are worse combinations than the one I last did. While the best solution is to go through each quest and raise the level of the quest appropriately, it still needs to be understood that this is a problem inherent to questing, and one reason why some quests are held off till later. You can't ever fully fix this problem given the status quo.

With that said, you have the broader aspect of questing. The go "do this and that" quest. The ones that require you to go all around Pyrathia... Doing these between Apprentice (while you still have an item to save your a**) and Mentor are annoyingly difficult. Not necessarily because the quests themselves are difficult, but because PE pools make traveling annoying, especially since some of them require fighting to get to it. So, you take forever to get where you need and forever and a half to get back. Sounds like I'm better grinding and watching TV.

Whether the reduction is small or large, it doesn't matter. Those arguments stand. The less the reduction, the weaker the arguments. The greater the reduction, the stronger the arguments. If you refuse to reverse it, at least take those into careful consideration and nerf the reduction.

The changes were all statistical in nature. There are no new "benefits" to a stance, such as how shields already worked with defensive.

The feedback that I had was that stance defensive was not good enough. So for stance defensive, whatever it did before, it does better now. There are also a few more combat checks where it provides positive modifiers. For stance aggressive, its benefits were made a bit better to keep even with the changes to defensive. But unlike defensive, the weaknesses you get with aggressive were also made a bit worse.

So overall, defensive was boosted a lot, but the changes to aggressive probably even themselves out.

It's perfectly logical. If you aren't traveling at the same velocity as your leader, you would not be in formation or even the same room with them. You'd either get ahead or fall behind.

The choice was either changing it this way or making it so that groups constantly fall out of sync with each other if you didn't manually update your speed. But doing it that way would have been extremely annoying for most players, whereas doing it this way is simple and convenient for everyone.

Will answer your other question later when I have more time.

I'd add another space between items, will make it easier to read, mister.

Show me how you'd like it to look using the code tag. (Wow, an actual legitimate use for code tag!) Remember that 80 characters wide is the SK standard, so the goal is for it to look good with that width.
