I would urge caution in making changes to something as far-reaching as enchant armor. Any tweak to this spell has the potential to affect a large number of spells across the game. Such changes would almost certainly require further subsequent balancing tweaks and, as such, go against the "simple" axiom.

I posit instead that you look carefully at a few "I win" spells for which people feel the need to get their armor greatly enchanted because once you fall victim to them, there are no countermeasures to be employed. First among them is charm person, followed by sleep and maybe FoD and petrification (though people seem to already save pretty well against these).

Barring the occasional lucky roll for automatic success, the petrification spell practically requires that a pc have 0 fortitude saves, jhorleb. I wouldn't even consider casting it against high con chars.

My idea: Make the game less time consuming in areas of loot and overall performance. The fact that people have to spend hours on their kits before engaging in PvP at the high end of players is just ridiculous. This is likely the only game I play that has required such setup and time investment.

reduce the duration of the curse affect. It lasts a ridiculously long time.

warlock elementals, if dispelled, or the warlock is killed should have a much quicker respawn time.

Make warlock spells non-magical. Create new spells for the warlock that can imbue elemental properties into weapons and armor.
