Fun! The possibilities are endless, and...I really don't see any negatives to counter.

For showing affiliations...perhaps add a new eq slot? Banner or insignia, which could be used not only to show one's Exemplar, but organizations as well - if one was so inclined - rather like the religious symbol slot.

Any way it's handled, I can't wait to see it in. :)

A tabard would look really good.

I think you could design your own as you do a note?

Hold a design model thing
Right a short description like 'A dark red vestment with a swirling black orb in the center'.
With color and everything.

Also a tabard would be a new slot for eq.

I like this idea of it too.

This would help it be seen who is your Exemplar.

Right, a bonus that everyone can take advantage of? How is it that its unfair if everyone can use it? Do you mean that the number of cohorts would be too low for everyone to benefit? Teach a friend to play and make them your cohort. I hope that people do compete for the attention of a cohort. That would make the game better. Also, when your low level character dies out exping, its an easy person to ask. Get PKed by someone, talk to your cohort? Maybe you got pked for who your cohort is? Its more about the RP to me than the code, but what I like is that it gives the people who actually spend time on newbies a benefit. Something that's hard for me to give them, but I do appreciate their help. It is an important selling point of Shattered Kingdoms, I believe, that many newbies can find help even without a global, ooc, or newbie channel.

There are already so much RP opportunities that are out there if players we stop being dicks and let people do them.

One of the main problems is that is somebody wants to try and do something and tries to RP something that is not very good, why dont we as players RP with them and try our best to help them with the RP rather then shut them up or laugh at them?

If your so much into wanting rp, then why would you be against this?

Yes, there is many rp opportunities already out there, but this would just add many more.

Everything that you have describe can be taken care of by the mentor command and through RP. Nothing needs to be hard-coded.

Because frankly, I havent been to thrilled with the coding changes have have been happening. If it is not broken then don't try to fix it. I am going to state it again, it is a problem with the attitude of the players. Besides Dulrik should be working on problem with the code not creating new ones.

This would be better than the mentor command. This system, the Exemplar wouldnt reject the cohert, or else why would he have him as one?
Ive typed mentor many many times before and have sometimes gotten no replies, even though knowing there are mentors around.

Sometimes your Exemplar will be busy. Sometimes they won't be on. Show me something that this new system will do that the current system can't?

Umm...

Mentor command only comes from those of YOUR country.

Exemplars can be from any country.

It would just give you a 'personal mentor' or a 'big brother' sort.

They could help you with much more than what the average mentor from the mentor system could.

When they recieve a message saying *** is seeking a mentor.

Their response is usually, what do you need to learn.

An Exemplar could help with more than just teaching skills and spells.

I almost never get responses to the Mentor command, even when I know there are GM people of the same class as me, from the country.

Okay that would be a good change. Why dont we change the mentor command to let it be used in any kingdom?
