I think the author meant, the willpower from bless is better than what you will find on a well enchanted suit.

But if you put willpower on your suit, then the chance to resist these spells would be increased...So why would you not enchant the suit?

That wasnt the point, the point was that the willpower from bless is a good amount, meaning added to your suit, yeah, you got nothing to worry about.

I was meaning the other crucible that QQ because they lost their suit, when they never pk'd anyways, and never really come out to the public at all.

I had several PK encounters with them before they lost their suits.

Bingo. Keep in mind, I am not privy to all this "insider" info and can only go by my experience in the game.

Conceptually: I could go either way with giving paladins immunity to fear. In many fantasy games, paladins are indeed immune to fear. It's usually not an ability that comes into play very often. But on the other hand, I don't see them needing to have it to abide by their code. The fear spell is a supernatural compulsion. If you do something against your oath while under magical affect, you should still go confess to your priest but they should absolve you because it wasn't your willing choice.

Mechanically: I haven't seen any argument that really makes the case that paladins need immunity to fear to be competitive. Every class needs to have weak points and this just happens to be one of them.

How about giving paladins a skill like suppression that lets them clear the fear affect off them, so they can walk back into the fight after being feared away? Call the skill backbone, tenacity, or something like that.

I like leaving paladins so they can be feared because in the end they are mortal and not above any spells just because they are a paladin. The skill is easily RP friendly to as it would allow for the paladin to ask for a little courage from their god through a prayer, or it also shows a paladin overcoming fear in the face of evil, and so on.

Please point out how getting hit by the fear spell is a weakness. This is the one spell in the game that can drop well prepared players with highly enchanted suits (outside of final strike, which I still boggle at players like Lolth and Mitch getting hit by).
