You might be able to debate severity, but... "makes no sense what so ever" ?? You're so very wrong.

They were abusing a bug to get 50 levels. Not one level. Not an item or two. Level 1 to 50, while standing in one room. What part of that makes you think they were not knowingly breaking the rules? What part of GMing so fast is not totally unbalancing for the game?

So much effort and focus has been on ensuring the game is playable from low levels and mid-levels instead of the OMG I MUST BE GM TO PLAY. This kind of skip-to-endgame behaviour is the wrong mentality and is a detriment to the wider playerbase.

Would you play a game in which the cheating few could stomp all over you at will and without anything near the effort you were putting in to try and level and become a better player?

This proves that you cannot count or do simple math.

Technically only one person who was banned got 50 levels, the other only used the bug up to level 16 or so (the most horrible levels for priests).

I was very clear that MrPerson was banned from both the game and the forums. And then what did he do? He made a new forum account in less than a week and started posting. Obviously I'm going to ban the new account and delete anything he did with it. Otherwise it's not a ban.

Since we are sharing opinions (again), I think that as unnecessary the perma-ban was is the attack on D. He has made a game and set the rules, you either play by them or are a gonner.

It was neccisary. The flagrant rules breaking continued even after Dulrik expressly forbid them from using the forums one of them went ahead and did it anyway.

Why have rules or punishments at all if this kind of conduct is not worth a banning. I back Dulrik 100 pecent on this.
