Simple question:

Is skin armor taken as part of the 'castration code'? These items are player made, but I know they have levels. Does the game take these away from you if you don't log the hours, or are they immune?

I ask, because I may have a period of inactivity coming, and I'd hate to lose armor after getting it cut, enchanted, and then made.

:(

I am pretty sure that the only things that get ganked due to inactivity are things that have a limited quantity. So I would think skins are exempt.

No definitive answer except from coders but imho it's based on level. Enchanting gear does up the equivalent level so if you have a nice-ass GM suit you'll likely lose it.

Yes, it does. If you were to give a newbie a skin of a GM, then the thieves will take it.

Yeah, duh. I'll simplify the premise though - the question was about whether or not a GM will lose GM skins due to inactivity.

I think they would probably get taken... My GM was stripped of his holy symbol and had to make himself a new one. It doesn't seem to be restricted to limited availability items only.

Sorry, my bad. I also lost my symbol once on a GMed char.

They will be taken. For sure. A gm character of mine has lost many times equipment that isn't even champion level. The higher the quality of your suit the more possible it is it will be gone (or the sooner, depending on how long you are going to be absent).

edit: Now that I think of it maybe unenchanted skins are the exemption of the rule. But I wouldn't be surprised if they were gone. In case the thieves take it, I find it a good idea for D to change it. Unenchanted skins are not something anyone will miss or seek.

I actually seem to remember my rogue keeping his skins through an eq-strip. I do believe it was about the only thing he kept, and yes, they were enchanted.

Skins and armor from skins do not get castrated, that is - if you have the level to keep them, but not the activity to support it.
