Why can’t bards use shield block? I mean, a rogue more skilled with a shield than a bard? Common! Bards are like foot soldiers, they should know how to use a shield. Besides, they are so frail they need the protection.

Ha ha ha- Frail?
I beg to differ!
Check some logs. Felnoris or Rowena can kick anyone's [REDACTED] with the right song. Actually, make that any bard.

I love bards so much, I would certainly want to see them with shields that CAN block, yay!

Bard sing and dance, SING AND DANCE. Why would they sing and dance with a shield?

Rhythmic Gymnastics involves music, movement, and objects, so do many native dances, so there is no reason for Bards not to use shields.

Agreed that they are neither the kind of warrior to block a blow with a shield, nor do they NEED this kind of protection. Rogues shouldn't either, probably. But they would need something else to make them decent if shield block was taken away.

Perhaps their EXTREMELY [REDACTED] HPs could by any chance be considered such a reason?

Bards do not need shield block. If you are afraid of dying, stock up on HP's. Tensin only died to NPCs 3 tiimes and a PC kill 1 time, despite many attempts. He had plenty of HP to keep him alive.

Juggs: I am sorry but I have seen what bards can do. And to be frank, they are not MEANT to be solo characters. In a group of even two or three persons, they are absolutely fantastic and can easily tip the scale of entire battles. Their utility outside battle is quite massive, too.
