I just got dirt kicked, and it did not recede with the next tick, but rather half-way into it. Has this finally been changed so that duration is based on a set time instead of the random tick-based duration.

Has there been a change?

I've noticed this same change with magma spray (as I got hit by one), and it seems to be doing damage just about every round in between combat. What gives?

If you have the time in your prompt, you'll notice its that way with a lot of things. I just thought it was something Dulrik had changed.

Hrm, so basically, it's just every hour, instead of every tick?

Probably to relieve the stress of the tick to two different times, then, without any real effect. Dirt kick can still recede a second after you got it - sucks.

Here I was hoping for a good change.

You rub the dirt out of your eyes.

[HP: 55%] [ME:100%] [PE: 52%] <TIME:2pm>

Doesn't look like it's just hour based.

Edit: Just counted and it came out to 16 rounds, give or take a round, four consecutive times.
