Quote: [Combat help] duel
Syntax: duel stun <target> duel kill <target> duel accept <target> duel concede <target> duel withdraw Duel allows two characters to fight one-on-one in a contest supervised by the Duelists' Guild. Duelists must be in the same area for the challenge to be valid. The challenge may not be offered or accepted if there are any spells cast upon those involved by anyone else, though mages may certainly protect themselves. Once the duel is begun, any outside interference will cause it to end. The duel will also end if one person flees. Once the duel has been completed, the Guild will post a note to the boards detailing the results of the fight. A paladin or hellion who attacks without using the services of the guild is dishonorable and a coward and will be judged by all who see them accordingly. One note...if the duel is to stun, the Guild guarantees the safety of the loser. No victor in a stun duel will be given the opportunity to land the killing blow. In a duel to the death, the Guild guarantees the safety of the body and its possessions by bringing it to guild headquarters. To all you horse wielding paladins and hellions out there (namely specific cabals). If you was dueling honorably, you wouldn't be able to use your horse. I've been told time and time again that they use the honor code thingie, but I have still yet to see it. See all kinds of paladin and hellion pk, never seen a hellion or pally duel. Seen most other classes in duels though. |

A name list of some people who HAVE in the PAST had honorouble fights doesn't mean that they normally do. Proof. It's what I crave. |

if you want proof via logs you are looking in the wrong forums... www.sklogs.com forums has stuff like that in which you can see all the honorable duels you want. If you want proof in game, then, again, you are looking in the wrong place... |

The above post pretty much says it all, but so did the post before it. Don't argue with people who are legimately answering your question. But in case you do want to know, almost no duels at higher levels are done through the dueling system anymore, simply because it only limits RP instead of extending it. It shows true trust in your opponent to not have to rely on the game code in order to be sure of the "safety" of the duel, which is what hellions/paladins are all about. And it isn't like Hellions and Paladins have nothing to do but duel each other all day long either. It isn't an everyday occurrence. Don't assume that you know everything before you post. |

Uh, people have "honorable duels" IC outside of the guild all the time. Start thinking outside your box. |

kirina and thayian had one tonight. That goes down a lot. Duelist guild is so rarely used because the knights find it limiting. We prefer to verbally agree with each other in the terms of the duels that way duels can have more leeway and variance. Also, a knight's word is his bond, no need for the guild. |
