Has something changed with regard to storing water in containers. I keep being poisoned by my water supply, no matter how long the water has been stored for. I tried this yesterday and cast create water on a barrel. I then drained the barrel before refilling it. Each time I drank from the barrel I recieved at least one 'you choke and gag' message before the barrel was empty.

What causes water to just become poisoned?

(In case you are wondering, the barrel came from a PC who said he had never had any problems)

Most likely, you have filled it with poisoned water from a river or some such. Try 'empty'ing the barrel instead of just drinking all the contents, that should solve the problem.

to clarify, I emptied the barrel twice. Each time I filled it with using the prayer 'create water'. Upon drinking immediately I rec'd the '...choke and gag' message.

As a test I then (three times) re-filled the barrel using the prayer and drank all the contents. I recieved 'choke and gag' message on each occasion.

Wouldn't it be nice for a purify water spell....

Maybe the barrel is not suitable for drinking water?

The barrel is the kind you get from Tethos and this happened in Everclear

Doesn't matter what container it was or in which area you were. I've had it happen several times on random containers. Emptying it won't do squat to fix it. The problem is that the actual container (even empty) is poisoned.

Try having someone cure the poison on it. Alternatively, just junk the thing and go buy a new one. That always works best.

Okay, I get the answer. However, as I stated it was given to Worts by a PC (very trustable). The first time it happened I asked them about it and they said they had never been poisoned while drinking from it....

A new container it will be

Were they a griffon by any chance?

Since griffons happen to be immune to poisons...
