I have a quick question and just wish to hear peoples opinions on the matter. How do you feel about a Shaman who does nothing but sit around in a guarded area and serial voodoo people over and over and over. Literally 9 times in a single session. Kinda goes against any RP whatsoever because you cant, everytime you talk to someone it keeps getting interfered with a silly voodoo, its not like he can kill you....
Just want to hear your thoughts......

This topic was discussed only recently in another thread.

Suggested voodoo changes were:
1. A longer cooldown.
2. A weakened effect.
2. Victim of voodoo gains a flag of immunity in prevention for dual voodoos.
3. Its removal.

Meanwhile do yourselves a favor and choose a magic resistant race if you are playing a spellcaster class. A shaman with no mana trains can one-shot anyone (that is a caster), any time, anywhere they want -- even without a doll.

If this is the player I think he is, then something does need to change a little. I would have been more impressed if it had either killed him the first time or stopped after the second attempt.

I don't know who was doing it on the other end, but I had a situation today where I was trying to RP with someone and this crap kept jumping in to no other effect than being extremely irritating. And I want to let whatever player know that if I catch them doing that with someone who can gate I'll show no mercy. They obviously don't have any.

In my time as playing as Youma, as long as you are protected enough, voodoo serves as a way of saying "my way or the highway". If you're doing something to get voodooed repeatedly, maybe you need to stop doing it?

It wasn't me. So I have no idea. And if it had killed him, or come close, it wouldn't have been a huge deal, but to spam it like that was just stupid.

If you do something bad to a shaman, he can voodoo you again and again and again. If you are smart you either know what to avoid, or know how to protect yourself. More or less like a necro and edrain. Also there is no guarded area. Voodoo is available at gateable places only, so get a group together, wait a voodoo attempt, heal up, gate to shaman, kill him. Simple as that.

And voodoo is not about building really, it's about preparation. So gate to a shaman, gank him, jloot him, laugh at his worthless efforts afterwards.

Only lame thing about voodoo is the ability of multi-voodoo from several shamans. There needs to be a flag like the one in edrain, any PC can take one voodoo every 4-5 ticks or so, enough to recover from first before a second one 5 seconds later will kill him. This way some [REDACTED] tictacs of certain players will be stopped - either one voodoo is enough to kill someone, or it's not. I take suggestion #3 of Min.

Given the circumstances of the situation ICly, I have to take the side of the shaman. He was justified from every perspective, IC and OOC. I'm not a huge fan of voodoo, but it's a strong way of sending a message, and the shaman very obviously got his message through here. So basically, what DA said.

I'm just surprised the player of a character as awesome as Kiran was would QQ about it.
