I am just curious as to the justification as to the levels of three spells - Specifically the expert level assigned to spell "Detect Aura" for priests. It is my beleif that this might be a bit high level. The reason I think this might be a bit high is because the spell "protection" - a novice level spell - reduces the damage against people of the oposite aura. In addition to this, the "know alignment" spell - Something that is much more specific than a general "aura" spell - is an Apprentice level spell. I can understand some variance in levels between the spells, but 5 circles between a spell that protects you from people of aura's and a spell that lets you know if your protection will work? Even 3 circles between a very specific and a general spell? Does this not seem a bit odd to anyone else? |

Ugh. He said circles. But, since I've rolled paladins and priests, I can agree with you - to a point. I'd much rather get rid of know alignment. Detect aura is fine. |

Know Alignment is placed lower because it's overall the weaker spell. Detect Aura lets you see the aura of as many people as you can look at, with no saving throw. Know Alignment gives more specific information, but has a single target and a saving throw. Know Alignment is valuable when you're trying to make a detailed evaluation of a character, such as a faith seeker. But if you're just looking to see what your protection spell is good against, Detect Aura is far better. |

As such a young character, though, does a really detailed description of anyone else really MATTER? |
