I have tossed some ideas around recently with others.

What if when you were involved with PK and your adrenaline still rushing, you could not:
get all corpse
junk all

Characters would have to get a bit more coordinated, far as strategy to leave someone uninvolved in the shadows to do the dirty work/rescue work. It won't stop (and isn't meant to stop) the PKer whose goal is to recover an item or two.

A lot of people seem to complain about how OOC it seems to be able in the heat of a battle to be doing such things. It doesn't make a lot of realistic sense when you think about it. When you're pumped up, you're body is focused on the fight, not the junk strewn about.

In the mean time, you have an improvement to the game which is in the spirit of making the game overall more enjoyable.

I oppose -anything- that makes junk looting more difficult.

Two reasons:

1) It spreads eq back into the game without having to do spam reboots
2) I think if you die to your enemies, your last concern should be your equipment icly and if you oocly care about equipment on a mud with SO MUCH EQUIPMENT FREE FLOWING AROUND then you need to not be playing this mud.

Rp folks, it's there for a reason.

I like your reason one grakus but your reason two needs work. SK ICly has a revolving door to death. Gear is what slows this down.

Indeed a junk loot seems worse than it is. Since the new repop code got put in gear will find its way back to its own much quick. Giving the Killed a chance to get back to life then go looking for his gear again. This gives the Victor what they want in the fact that they have hurt the effectiveness of the char they have killed for a time giving them an advantage. The looted can gather their things again rather than seeing their gear get whisked away to a HQ somewhere and have it sit there till a reboot.

There are much nastier things than a junk loot. Junk loots hurt but only hurt so much. The more often it happens the less it hurts (because you learn where to find things). Death hardly hurts at all.

Maybe my vision is skewed here. I don't worry, nor care (nor am I really in a position to complain) about armor.

What gets me is we had a game situation, an RP one mind you that had its PK aspects to it. The whole situation fell apart when significant junk looting led a major force involved to withdraw its desire to be a further RP participant.

I'm not saying eliminate the ability to destroy armor. It has a definate place in the game.

It wasn't about a junk looting. ;) That's all I'll say on it, but it wasn't due to the jloot.

There are two incredibly easy options available for all players to keep them from getting junk looted.

1) Do not die. If you don't die no one can junk you.

2) Don't keep any loot. If you die without loot then there is no loot to junk.

Otherwise, accept the fact that if you get junk looted, all you have to do is re-equip, it ain't hard and most classes don't even need it. Sure it's very nice when someone leaves your equipment, but honestly, when you die IT'S NO LONGER YOUR EQUIPMENT.

Possession is 9/10ths of ownership. When you die and your loot becomes my loot, then it's now my garbage to deal with. Mo one in the history of shatteredkingdoms has ever lost a single piece of equipment that was theirs to a junk loot. All anyone has ever done is destroy a lot of new equipment that suddenly belonged to them.

So stop yelling at me for taking out my garbage. I am merely being environmentally friendly and the church of Nashira should send merit badges to anyone who engages in environment friendly thinking.

That is all.

SO MUCH EQUIPMENT FREE FLOWING AROUND

I recently tried to help equip a new paladin who had died.
I went from Tethos to Seawatch, to Exile, to Ayamao to Teron, to discover that ALL previous Tanso-Adamantite-Diamons armors are now steel.

Tanso bought from Nerina comes up as much as 7 or more platinum per piece, you need several pieces to dress up. Hell even SILVER WRISTBANDS in Ayamao cost more than 4 PLATINUM / piece!!!

So an irrelevant question set is:

Where's all that free flowing around equipment?
How can a Paladin who tithes find several obsidian coins to equip himself?

Maybe since I am 90% out of the game, coming back randomly for brief periods of time just to check in, I have missed something major, but oh hell....

As for the topic at hand, I would agree with what has already been mentioned:

Dont die, so that u dont get junk looted.
Dont hoard a hell lot of stuff, it will get you killed.
Things you own are either stolen from others/NPCs, requested as a loan so they dont belong to you in the first place.
Most classes can play without EQ, as mentioned before. EQ just seperates leetness from an average player :-? .

Sith/Nerina have about 90-95% of all purchased consumables. That is why their economy's are super saturated with cash and why things cost so much.

Nearly an obsid for a single piece of armor is frickin stupid.

We do have tools now to analyze what are the most popular goods. One thing we will be trying is to spread things out a bit so that it does not all contribute to just one economy.

But I disagree with the theory that it is stupid for a single piece of armor to cost an obsidian. If the armor is that valued, then a high cost makes sense. However, currently, the high cost is more a function of inflation than demand for that specific item. I have some plans to address this.
