Instead of (mastered) skills the fighter who reaches their age tick will reach a new peak of mastery where they are beyond what is taught and begin to form original movements they have devised.

I kind of like this. Would it continue improving with each age tick? What happens with skills that are mastered after the age tick?

I like the sound of the "general idea" for one single reason.

It would reward the players who sticked to the character long enough, and perhaps encourage other players to keep their characters longer.

I am tired of seeing new faces every 2 months, new GM characters that pop out of nothingness and dissapear without a trace in the next couple of months. IMO such characters are not worth investing time to RP or interact with and that's sad :(

If you want to put a cap on how long it takes you to make characters, set an hour requirement for each status level except amatuer. Something like 10 hours per status level. You could change it around for different things, so that a novice only needed 5 hours, whereas a master needed about 20. That way, it wouldn't bother slow levellers, like newbies or primarily-rp characters, but it would slow down the rate at which new leetness characters pop up.

I like the idea of a benefit for long lived characters.

Setting an hour requirement for status tiers would cause me to leave this game for good and never look back.

I don't want a time requirement. Exping is just about perfect right now. I would like to see a benefit to aged characters. I have seen lots of suggestions, but the only addition Dulrik has given for that benefit is mentor points. That's not even so much for aging or character longevity as it is to keep players mentoring others.
