Nice try, forum editor.

It's a good idea, though. A priest can cast a healing spell on the entire group to heal their wounds, but it costs way too much mana to cast.

Given that priests are generally trash on their own, it seems a decent idea to lower the mana cost on this spell so it isn't so ridiculously draining.

I'd like to see it heal a bit more too.

That would be nice, but I don't mind the low healing percentage so long as the mana cost is reduced. For the little bit it heals in comparison, this spell is pretty much never worth it.

I'd honestly just like to see Artard just stop whining and enjoy being ownt on his blemished elf mudexx0r.

On a serious note, yeah, less mana, time, and more healing(slightly)

You know what Smoochy would like to see?

A decline in cheap pot shots toward Ardith. Actually, less of personal attacks in general. Its getting old. We already have enough negative posts and reactions in the forum as is. SK should be enjoyable outside the game as well as in it...

And as for the topic, not really in full support. Though it IS neat you can Heal more then one person. There can only be a total of three people in front row right? Not counting bows, or enemies with reach, but two priests in the back is a classic set up. If it healed for less mana, you could probably take on just about anything in SK...

Warlocks are better group healers than priests, which I always thought strange. What if mass heal became what healing rays currently is and then healing rays looked more like cure serious with an elemental bent? Or elemental damage spells could start healing the corresponding elemental.

The only thing is that this would be a buff to priests that they don't need.

I don't think that it's too overly draining or not powerful enough. If enough of your group is injured it can be more mana efficient and much quicker to cast mass healing than single target heals.

If anything I could understand it's strength being slightly raised, but if so the manacost should increase as well. It is very true that as it stands you're much better off brandishing a heal staff than casting mass heal: However, given that heal staves are generally hard to come by, I don't see that as much of a problem.

What priests need is a guardian.

Code:
[Spells help] summon guardian
Syntax: cast 'summon guardian'

The life of a priest should never be a lonely one.  Clerics are ill equipped to
venture forth into the great unknown without a sturdy warrior to provide
necessary defense in meaningful combat situations.  However, when no
suitable warrior can be found, the priest can summon forth a guardian of
his god in order to provide a necessary shield of protection against the swords
of his enemies.

A priest can only summon a guardian when he is not in formation with another
player; when the priest joins (or is joined by) another PC, the guardian will
automatically disappear.  Guardians provide no utility other than the necessary
physical shield to prevent a cleric from finding himself immediately knocked to
the ground by an enemy combatant.  The only skill a guardian possesses is to
rescue his master.

An NPC which can be targeted by magical affects.

Given GM armor and sanctuary, a guardian should hold up reasonably well against a properly equipped charm. No weapons or armor, and you cannot summon or maintain a guardian when in formation with other PCs.

I'm going to say that priests don't need buffs. I think they do not need to have their own "guardian" summoning spell. Mass healing is probably okay too. It hits everyone in the group for the same amount of mana, right? Whether its two or eighteen? The fact you could get more hp for your mana with mass healing than with a regular heal makes the spell cool enough. Not that I am sure we've had any groups of eighteen yet, but with recent code updates, its definitely possible.
