C 'delve' <target>

Casting delve allows a healer to diagnose any sickness or affliction on a person.

Basically if Merc A is blind, deaf, and feebleminded, and Priest B casts delve, the priest would see "Merc A suffers from blindness, deafness, and a feebled mind." or somesuch.

I figure it to be a novice/initiate spell, about the time when you'd start getting the maladiction cures, and to have very little concentration. I also see it as an excellent RP tool.

Thoughts?

Seems to me as worthless. You can tell if there's an affliction just by doing some cancellation. Or by the subject actually saying what's wrong with them. There's no "mute" spell.

There is one spell that is as good as mute for most people. How ever I agree with Goldlantern if you dont know someone has an affliction you what is going to make you cast the spell. If you do know they have an affliction well you probably know what it is or can figure it out quick enough. There is no need for this spell how you have described it.
How ever if something like this was tied into detect poison and made a detect spell like detect aura I would have nothing against it. Gets the get detect poison made a proper detection spell band wagon rolling.

A "detect malediction" spell would be useful and a good replacement for detect poison.

make it a skill with no cast time or delay. Give it to priests and shamans.
Add it to glance:

Quote:
>glance human

You are looking at a short male human.
He is kind of ok looking.
He is poisoned and deafened.
You have improved at assess malediction!

>c 'cure deaf' f1
>c 'cure poison' f1
