It doesn't seem fair these days that after working so hard for certain pieces of armor like the fiercely-painted bear mask (D'Astae) and Unholy gauntlets of Might (GGI) that they have these automatic affects that kick on and mess you up because of fatigue. In these two cases it's giant strength. You can't even wear the armor because of what happens with fatigue (which actually I assume will eventually kill you if you don't remove).

I petition to have these higher-level pieces changed to keyword.

Like you're ever going to have the gauntlets of unholy might.

You ask for too much, dude. If you don't want the constant fatigue, then don't wear that piece of armor constantly. Use it only when you need its magic and keep another piece for the rest of the time.

laugh.

The point isn't about whether or not I'll have them, it's the fact that you can't even wear armor that you work hard for because of the affect-on-wear setup.

Didn't your Mommy teach that if you can't say something nice, not to say anything at all?

Right. THAT makes sense. So I have a few pieces that grant me haste/gstr etc. You want me to hoard more gear and only wear the affected pieces sometimes? I can't even switch because I lose the affect right away after removing said pieces.

Somehow that just seems lame. Why work for them at all when you know the incentive has huge drawbacks?

Its easy enough for the item to check if you are affected with giant strength before it fires. I'll look into fixing those two items.

I thought it made sense, It isn't exactly hoarding either just put on the haste/gstr gear when you are going into battle.

Who the hell cares? If you don't want something because of its effect(don't go get it), then it sucks to be you, because I'm 100% sure 20 other people would be willing to use it.

I actually think Stratford has a point here. When something has this kind of effect, it's not that people don't keep it, they just keep it AND something else to use the rest of the time when they don't want the giant strength. It just encourages hoarding. I'd be for changing these to keyword.

Also, Achernar, I don't think he's saying the fatigue stacks because the item fires when you're already GSTR'd, but because it will fire sequentially once the first one wears out, eventually dropping you down to like 1 CON (and maybe killing you, I've never tried).

I have a pretty good idea what's going on. The script needs to be reworked to be a little more intuitive is all. The frequency may need adjustment or perhaps just a few adjustments in how it works. It should have a cost, but I'd really doubt that any builder intended for an item to be annoying, considering its so difficult to earn.
