Post subject:  Shamans and raise dead.

I'm honestly a bit disappointed that shamans basically have the life giving power of the Warlocks, yet without magma spray and fire elementals. It's come to the point that Shamans, while valid healers, are really only asked to return someone from the dead if they're a lowbie or midbie with an abundance of exp, or desparate to be alive for whatever reason.

Hence, I propose a compromise between impotent, warlocky revive and the ressurections only the less-offensive priest should be entitled to:

A revive spell that has no exp penalty, but requires the in-tact corpse to use. Please post your thoughts and your QQing.

Edit/clarification: I am proposing this spell for Shamans, not for Warlocks.

Another edit/clarification: I'm afraid I didn't accurately describe what I was proposing in this thread, please see page 2.

I somewhat like this idea.

Not the shaman's nor the warlock's classes are built as primarily healers/revivers. They simply have this little extra since they both are cleric in a way. Breath life and Raise dead are equally fine and are great as they are.

Yeah, you're right. The cure blindness, cure deafness, cure light, cure serious, cure critical, cure poison, cure disease, remove curse, and that weird spell called "heal" must've all somehow thrown me off about a Shaman's role as a "heal"er. Woops.

Paladins also have these spells. Are paladins considered healers? My bad then. :P Shamans are not PRIMARILY healers, like paladins aren't either.

Not for wimping ress or priests. Sorry.

A super-raise with a lower exp penalty and less disorientation would be a valid option, Nothing that would outclass rez, then again, needing the corpse is defintiely a negative compared to rez. You can get a rez if your corpse cannot be reached, but the shaman always has to get there.

COnsidering how easy it is to butcher/skin a corpse and destroy it, or just the sheer danger of retrieving a corpse, I can see shaman (no s) having their raise dead spell cost no EXP, still have spirit disorientation, it will take very little from priests AND it will give a good viable reason to have your friendly neighborhood Shamanman come to the rescue as opposed to waiting for a priest, it would give more RP to the Shaman because they WILL be saught after for life giving rather than waiting for a priest.

Warlocks really aren't clerics.

Paladins are beat sticks and not primary healers. (as far as clergy go)

Except Paladins don't have heal, shamans do. Shamans are just as good of healers as priests, and better than paladins. While having worse offensive capability than either of those classes. I like this idea very much, as shamans are definately way higher up on the healer list than warlocks are.

I agree there should be a difference between raise dead and breathe life - I'm just not sure this is it.
