Here's what happened: A companion and myself were visiting sites for pilgrimage. We came upon Marfik's spot, in the sky, did that, and recalled from there. At the time my character was mounted on a flying young dragon, self-propelled. Edited to not reveal IC info wrote: The Corner of the Sky
Floating improbably in the midst of the sky is a clump of earth, about five by five feet, looking something like a * half-sphere. Bits of dirt and pebbles fall from it occasionally, plummeting down into the void. In the center of the patch of earth is a stone with an inscription written on it. It's clear, very, very hot, and calm. Obvious exits: s w sw (Charmed) A young white dragon is flying here mounted by you. Bunny is here flying on a silver-winged pegasus. Brave souls have been known to utilize the arcane power #rryyyyFf that is bound to the stones, travelling to far lands in the blink |yprrrrrf of an eye. ' 100% ' 100% ' 88% ' You can't do that. You are dead. My first thought was someone pulled a quick cleave/backstab on me at the portal stones, but then I looked carefully and that's not what happened. As you can see, I died recalling while mounted on a flying pet. It went from: Mounted flying --> recall command --> dismount in the sky --> therefore plummet to death --> ghost recalled. The recall command was typed in after setting stance to neutral. I don't play with command echoes so it doesn't show in my logs. Is this a bug? If it is not a bug, can we have some kind of safeguard against this kind of thing happening? If not, may this post serve as a warning to future adventurers. (I forgot to test whether if a ghost can recall but from fuzzy memory I think it would say, "You can't do that. You are dead.") |

I think that's a bug. I'm sure we can fix the code issue. My sincere apology for the error. |

I think the actual problem here is that you regular recalled. I know that doesn't help the fact that you died, but the fact that you can't take your pet with you is what caused you to dismount before being transferred. I'll be interested in seeing whether or not they can "fix" this in order to make you able to recall while mounted. Until then, you should try to use word of recall or move away from such areas before recalling. |

The regular recall should act like a dismount + recall, so only a fraction of the characters HP should have been affected. sleeper |

And in this case sky>Min. Though I don't think you should have to dismount to recall myself. I think that it should have recalled and then dropped her for the damage because the pet didn't come. |

Same quest... One of the NPCs charmed two of us and we were riding wolves that had flight spells cast on them. When the NPC moved and took us with it, our mounts no longer followed us for some reason. We were forced to dismount and we fell to our death. I guess it could be that the group was disband so they no longer were following us? But that still does not make too much sense. It makes for very sad people and Marfik being a big killer! |
