Post subject: | End Jail Sentence |
I was wondering wouldn't it make sense for a criminal just out of jail to be placed at the gates of town rather than inside the town in which they've already committed crimes? It also makes sense in some cities to have people outside, like In Krychire only citizens are allowed inside in the first place, perhaps criminals could be left go at the second magistrate. In Sith'a'neil if a drow is captured and only gets jail time (not going to happen because the law punishment system really needs revamping) and is released at the magistrate as soon as they move the guards are going to yell and attack. It just sounds right that the sheriff drops the ex criminal at the edge of town and says "Boy, you might be clear in the eyes of the town, but I'm watching you now get." Thoughts? |

That actually is not too bad of an idea. But, unless I am wrong, recent events have shown me that a large MAJORITY of the guards in Sith'a'niel are set to mode stun. That would mean that said deep-elf would get beaten on in a vicious cycle. That would be bad. For Sith'a'niel, it would have to put them further than the gates of the city because at the gates, we have at least a few guards who would just beat on a deep-elf. Perhaps banish the recent offender to the stones? |

To the stones sounds like a wonderful idea. |

There are camo'd NPCs in Ayamao, if any of them are near the stones that would still put afore mentioned deep-elf in a never ending 'You are stunned' nightmare. |

Hmm. Maybe a forced recall then? Kind of like, "Go home you scum!" And they toss you to your portal stones. |

I don't know. I can only think of a handfull of instances in which this would be relevant (e.g. delves in Sith'a'niel). Experienced players will know not to wander around as a delf in Sith'a'niel after being arrested and will make their exit anyway. Newbies could just be warned by an NPC at the gate that they'd better recall if they know what's best for them. I can think of other situations, though, like a midbie leveling somewhere where you'd actually not want to have to walk all the way back to some nation after a forced recall. I'd prefer to leave this alone and script a warning rather than putting in a forced recall. |

I suppose the only place the issue will come up is Sith - its easy enough just make sure the room that you're planted in after leaving jail does not have any guards posted in it. Simple enough. |

This issue also comes up in Krychire. If the city captures villians outside of the city then they do not want those criminals (if they aren't citizens) within the bounces of Krychire, right? |

To be fair. I got myself arrested once to get into Krychire. |
