Post subject:  Polemaces

I know, I know. This is an age-old problem.

I love how there are more pole-maces out there. I really do. However they are never there for long. Since there is a limited supply and a high demand for them, you see them hoarded and rarely there for the taking by young people.

With the levelling system as it is, its incredibly hard for priests or other mages to attain these much needed items because they can't go about leveling like a fighter. They need to be behind something and if you're say, a priest, it would be very, very, very hard to train up until you get flamestrike and/or spear of faith.

So, I was wondering if these could be just a bit more frequent in the shops to help us out.

Thank you.

There's a shop in the game now that sells it in ample supply. Thanks goes to current Algorab.

It isn't cheap, it isn't light-weight, but all things considered, it's well worth it.

(Just checked and it's there.)

On a side note, maybe lower the level of flamestrike(only for priests) or something? Not like this would break the game or anything. :/

IMO everybody but priests should be fine, they all get a spell or something that enables them to level to jman-ish just fine. I've never played a priest but I imagine the first few ranks suck really bad, since last time I looked at a priests spell/skillset it's almost exactly the same as a shaman's till jmanish, except shamans get the "axe" skill and are usually going to have more con/str/dex.

I think we can all agree priests being easy to level is good for the game? Right!?

Many times a polemace that isn't lightweight is as valuable as a broken wood dagger to a priest.

Sure! You just need a strength of 19+ (what priest doesn't have that?) or a mage to shrink it since its of a material that can't be NPC resized.

Priests are supposed to be hard to level until Journeyman, because...

I dunno. You can still buff up and melee if you know where to go.

Priests get an amateur lvl damage spell that works great. I've managed to get a priest without a religion up to expert within a few hours, using only said spell. It doesn't work always and on everyone, but SK offers you enough NPCs to test it for every level you want to face. Risk free also.

I haven't even started a priest in years, what spell is this? Did SoF's level get reduced or something?

He's talking about cure light.

I've played three priests and

1. 19+ strength? For an amateur priest? Its hard to attain especially if you're a newb. Why? Because strength isn't exactly something a MAGE will be focusing on. Also, strength mods are relatively difficult to come by. The rings I'm thinking of you need flight for. The neck items I'm thinking of you need to actually kill the creatures for. If you're a cloth-armored priest, thats difficult.

2. Sorceror to resize. I don't know about you, but I've seen very, very few of these lately! And I've asked. OH HOW I'VE ASKED ICLY!

The flamestrike idea would be fantastic. Shamans I find to be much easier to level since they're 1. light armor and 2. can take the damage.

Priests, especially those in the cloth faiths are incredibly difficult to train. I've always had to find someone to take the time to take the attacks (pets die :( even when you heal them with your cure light). You want to cry up until journeyman.

I've said it before, I will say it again: Move second attack down to around initiate. Where it is now isn't all that useful once you get into flamestrikes and spear of faith.
