This has been brought up a few times in the past, at least by me, if not others. I didn't bother searching to see. A voice adjective would be a nice, beneficial, touch to the game. When yelling, instead of getting someone's physical adjective, you would get their voice adjective instead, unless you were standing in the room where the person yelled. When in darkness without a light, or blinded, instead of seeing "Someone says" you would get "A soft female voice says" or "A gruff male voice says". It can get confusing when there are multiple people talking to you and you have absolutely no idea who they are because everyone sounds the same. |

This has to be an old idea, but I still hope they do it. It makes a lot more sense than A beautiful female half-elf yells '!!!!' Of course, once a person is greeted and you ostensibily "know" them the adj should turn into their name when they yell, since you can recognize their voice. |

As far as flavor-only additions to the game, I think this is among one of the better ideas. It should work for tells, too. Because wtf. . . You're in the River and all of a sudden everyone you know without spirit sight doesn't know what you sound like? I don't know how much work it would take, but if the powers-that-be would consider it, I think it'd be nice. |

I know some people don't enjoy doing this but in tells if you want to convey voice tone put something like *in a deep voice* before you type what you want to say. It goes around hard coding and isn't that hard for us and is very customizable on the fly. |

The point isn't that we can't "get around it." It's silly, though, that you can hear my characters red hair from across town, don't you think? |

I agree with that. When people yell adjs should not be included. My idea was mainly for tells/says |

On a side note while *in a deep voice* isn't that bad, but people that use *the hairs on the back of your neck stand on edge as a voice invades your soul* should be cursed, killed, auto-deleted and then site-banned. For one, unless you have the language mastered the *sadfasfas* comes across all garbled and is pointless anyway. Also, you don't decide what makes my characters hair stand on edge, nor does your voice invade my soul because you say so. For that reason I am against everyone that does the *sdsdafsdf* crap. Use emotes if your in the same room as someone and if your using tells then those sorts of things get lost in the telepathy IMO. Nothing needs 'fixed' because sometimes people are speaking to you as 'Someone'. They are only ever 'Someone' when You can't normally sense them. If you can't sense them, you can't tell who it is, Its that simple. Quote: Someone tells you 'Greetings friend.'
You reply to someone 'Who is this?'' Someone tells you 'Its XXXXXX.' Damn, that was hard! |
