Post subject:  Give parole to non-leader tribunal members?

I propose we allow non-leader members of tribunals to parole (and unparole) outlaws who have yet to be banished.

This would give tribunal members the freedom to suspend, but not remove crimes from people who either haven't committed enough crimes to be banished, or who their leader doesn't want to banish. It would do a lot to alleviate the common dilemma of being wanted in a city for defending it while there were no tribunal leaders present.

Thanks.

Long as leaders could see this akin to how they see changes in diplomatic relations.. a good thought.

At the risk of jinxing this idea at the very start, I'd like to say it's a great idea!

It is already extremely difficult to get banished in a kingdom. Don't make it easier to escape permanent banishment by only requiring you to convince one inactive member to parole you.

How about the code randomly pick one person online from the trib at any given time (when a leader isn't online) to flag as able to parole. That way there's always at least one person that can do it.

Could probably set up a system that's not random at all and up to leader discression, like a heirarchy, but that sounds like a lot more trouble for D. I don't know jack about coding though...might actually be easier.

This idea is not new. There's lots of things members of tribunals should be able to do, but right now all they can do is deposit, diplomacy, and recall.

I suggested this along with a bevy of ideal commands members should have, along with immigrate, deport, balance, and yes, parole.

If that happened, the leader could simply unparole the person in question and reprimand the person who did this. I am suggesting parole, and not pardon, because a leader should be able to rescind a decision they do not agree with.

That said, a tribunal hierarchy outside of the levels of 'leader' and 'not leader' allowing certain non-leaders to parole and certain non-leaders not to parole is worth considering, but it may be difficult to code. Even if a tribunal member had the coded ability to parole someone, a tribunal leader could simply tell them that they did not have permission.

I voted no. Leaders are the leaders and you can't have everyone going around deciding who should be paroled, who shouldn't be.

Thank you. Jesus christ, WHY CAN'T TRIB MEMBERS IMMIGRATE, DEPORT, AND CHECK THEIR BALANCE? Not being able to is completely idiotic.

All immigrating/deporting is, is some paperwork. 95% of the time there's not even RP involved. Make a character in Tas, tell XXX I want to be deported. You have been deported from Tas! Tell YYY I want to move to the Northern Wastes and join the CoN. You have been immigrated/inducted!!!!!!!

Regular members do not need parole.
