Why is it impossible to do things like play a corrupt official? Either you won't even get into the tribunal due to detect/know alignment, or the second you do something like let somebody out of jail, people cry to the imms and you get removed. Why is this? |

Because the King/Queen/Emperor/CoN/CoB/whatever NPCs are above than any PC in authority remove you for being corrupt. ![]() Stop being lame. Or play the corrupt officer and accept the consequences of your actions. ![]() |

So much for "player run organizations"? |

They are still player run, they just aren't run by corrupt players. I see what your saying Syn, but I don't think anyone else in the faction you were leading would enjoy that. |

D has mentioned that above every single PC in any organisation is at least 1 NPC. This is for safety reasons, to prevent lameness as a player who finds it "interesting" RP for example to surrender the NW to the Empire or Zhensh to the Empire and destroy a kingdom just like that, because he had the power to do so. For SK to remain SK some things must remain static. |

What's wrong with RPing out a surrender? That's one of the problems with SK, people suck at RPing losing. |

RPing a surrender after one faction has spam died to another faction is one thing. It takes a lot of effort to be done and it doesn't happen often anyway(remember the MC invasion in Teron, how much effort was done and still no results came out of it). But surrendering because supreme executive power is given to a single PC and he thinks he'll do it just because he can is another thing. |

There was a giant once when I was leader of CoN with rayvorath, who would work with mezcao's priest to try to throw me off my throne. He was very properly inducted into the army, although I did have my suspicions. But as long as I found out IC about his treachery, he was punished severely and tarnished. As it's already said, be prepared to accept the consequences if you get caught. After all, a real corrupt must know how to cover his back if he wants to be successful, else he is simply a jerk. ![]() |

There are extremely few people who play cookie cutter characters anymore. Extremely few legitimately evil necromancers, very few legitimately 'evil-fighting, crusader' paladins. Extremely griffons who only want to meditate and seek knowledge, extremely few elves who are arrogant and chill in their tree. The mud needs fewer people who play crazy out-there characters and more that are cookie cutter, it makes the game better. |
