The past few days I've noticed that when using the greet command, people have to actually give other people their names afterward. Is there a reason it's been coded like this? Because it seems like it would be fairly easy to tack on a little extra something like, "You introduce yourself to Booger as Goober." or something to that effect.

I know it is kind of useless code, because you can do it just fine with says now, but I just thought I would put it out there anyway...

When you greet someone they do see you by 'name' instead of 'adjective sex race' afterwards.

People use the says for RP purposes only.

Now if you wanted to introduce yourself as goober to booger, but your name is really foobar well that you can't do.

Well you CAN as long as you don't greet them as well.

I have stressed before I am a lazy person, so while I realize the says are for rp purposes, if I could get it tagged on to the greet, so much the better for me, right? :P

It sounds like you could accomplish what you want with an alias.

First click the computer icon in the bottom right to disable command parsing.

Then just type this directly into Zmud, doing it this will way make it work even when your using Telnet as the alias will be saved on the server instead of just in your client.

Quote:
alias greeting greet &1;sayto &1 Greetings I am Foobar the Awesome. Defeneder of Awesomeness, wielder of the Awesome.

Then when you greet someone use 'greeting goober' instead of 'greet goober'

You might want to change the text in the 'sayto' but thats up to you

I'm lazy, I have an alias called greeting.

Quote:
say I am Lirimaer Elda, $5Devoted $7$IPriestess $7of $4Love$A, $3R$2egent of $7$IA$2$Iyamao$A.
greet

And you can see why. I get lazy and don't want to type that out each time. And with greet there like that, I can say what I do and then greet all, or greet an individual.
