I'm going to go ahead and say that duration should be reduced to four or five ticks at GM.

Can we ask why?

Your level shouldn't affect the duration of the poison. The level of the poison should affect that.

Sorry, I should clarify - I clearly meant, GM level poison.

That'd be interesting actually. Have poison do all the damage it would do over it's very long duration just condensed into a shorter duration. Much in the same way magma spray was lengthened.

So if it does 100 damage over 25 ticks currently, for 4 damage each tick, you could shorten it to 5 ticks, and have it do 20 damage a tick. Beastly.

That'd certainly make it more feared.

And the aggro low-mid-level NPCs who poison victims? That would be devastating. E-heal is what keeps a few alive for the duration. Shortening it and strengthening it to broadcast the same total damage would be disastrous to many low-level PCs. Even poison-resistant races get poisoned.

I so don't like this idea...

On that same note, a lot of times you run out of PE, ME, and you just sit there until you die anyways, 30 ticks later. This at least would speed up the process of finding a rez and getting back on your feet again.

This would be awesome for hellions and necromancers.

This would make necrophidous [REDACTED] as hell.

Then we just might have a use for detect poison.

To detect that you are poisoned? I think you'd know this at the tick.

Maybe if detect poison would put a flag in front of a NPC (poisonous) so that noobs would know it potentially is poisonous...

This suggestion gets made over and over and over, and yet detect poison remains useless.

I think if detect poison was going to be made into a spell like detect aura, or detect magic, it would have been.
