So, partly to deal with the crying about no longer being able to see PC names on skins, and partly because it's just a good idea, I propose this change to tailoring:

Aside from the usual tailoring of armor and backpack options, add a few to tailor treasures, with an argument to allow the name of the person whose skin it is to be tailored onto the item.

A few of the treasure options might include a mask, a cap, a (non-container) cloak, a necklace of XYZ's ears, etc.

The justification for allowing names on these tailored items is that the tailor can make the items recognizable as XYZ, either by branding a name on the skin, or by arranging it in such a way as to be visibly XYZ (such as with a mask).

As an aside, how about adding centaur leg barding to the list?

Peace,

In theory, this is a wonderful idea. I'd love to be able to do something like this. In reality, the spirit of the idea won't be upheld. Proof of point: There used to be a shield shop in Teron that would transform a shield into a shield of <whatever you put here>. (Or something like that). Some people used it for what it was intended for, most did not, so the shop got removed. This won't be any different.

They removed that shield shop? :( How was that abused?

Yeah, when did they remove that? That was really neat.

I think it would be really neat, if, when tailoring skins instead of only being able to do like a coif/vest/bracers/leggings/boots/gloves/backpack, you could do like cap/jerkin/sleeves/kilt(skirt/pants/wtfever)/maybe like variations of gloves(like fingerless/elbow length/wtfever)/different types of boots or shoes/and a cloak or quiver or something.

It's not like this would do anything except add some variety instead of just seeing everyone wearing the same type of stuff when it's a tailored skin.

As long as we are talking about tailoring..

There has been a lot of QQing lately about armor availablity. The thread regarding DA's hoarding of Adamantite, and DA arguing elsewhere about the deestablishment of 1337 items. etc.. etc..

I propose we make an equivalent to the mithril lions and acid scorpions, only in Adamantite. Only available for GM scouts.. and make the NPCs more difficult to kill than mithril lions.. in a new and interesting area (or in an existing area until a new one can be created)..

Adamantite armadillos *(size small)
Adamantite rhinos (size medium)
Adamantite elephants (size large)
Adamantite war-beetles (size tiny)

And a special NPC tailor located somewhere semi-difficult to get to.
