To not derail the thread, I'll make this instead. The amount of time that you need to hold onto an object is nothing. I wasn't even intending on holding onto the sacred shaman cloak with Ravenne and everytime I logged in just to make sure that I wouldn't lose the char, I still had the cloak. Logging into the game for only a couple mins a month should of stripped me of the cloak.

On leadership, when a cabal/trip is run by a certain clic, one will cover for the other and the other 'leader' will only log in and sit semi-idle (not voiding) and not really do anything. Now, I don't know about any of the current leaderships, but it has happened in the past. I am not worried about this too much though because it can be reported. It is hard to report the hoarders though.

That is why someone suggested that for each piece of eq, it comes with a time requirement and all of the eq time requirements stack. So that if you want to be a hoarder, you have spend a lot of time in the game or you start losing eq to the thieves.

Containers are not affected by the dehoarding timer and people are asking for this to be changed for years now.

But the main issue with hoarding equipment is not the hour requirement. It's the inconsistent month reboots that happen even once every 2 months. That can practically leave items completely out of the game for almost 4 months, if the timing is really bad. For example a char collects the hours needed in the first week after a month reboot and doesn't log in since then - he has enough hours to keep them after the next reboot that will be in 2 months and he'll even keep them for 2 more months until the next reboot where he will be deleted for not logging in at all. This is an extreme example, but you can get the idea.

And before anyone says anything about the month reboots and how often they happen, let me remind you after how many days did the latest month reboot happen. :P

The time requirements need to be at least doubled, if not tripled or more.

Yes, I understand not everyone has loads of free time...but if you're only playing 2 hours a week(or not at all), you uh, don't need to have a leader flag, or a suit of awesome eq, sorry.

We don't agree on much, but this is one we both agree on.

Thanks for the info on containers DA.

I didn't know this. I was wondering why I didn't loose my robe when I got dehoarded last. I agree that should be changed.

I have no idea what the actual time requirement to keep a leadership flag is, so I can't comment on whether I think it should be more or not. But I would like to see monthly reboots to be more stable and regular.

If you're not using equipment, junk it?

Containers aren't de-hoarded due to a limitation of the character saving system. If I deleted your container, you'd also lose all the equipment that is inside it. This isn't an easy fix.

Actually I forgot I had that container. When I knew I was going inactive, I handing out all my unique items to faction members. I don't know how I missed the container. But there are a lot of players in this game that would rather just keep their neat items forever, even if they aren't using them. If they could be trusted not to hoard, there wouldn't be a need to dehoarding.

And yeah, I figured it was a problem with the stuff inside. Is there generally a problem with people keeping limited containers after dehoarding?

We could just trust good, decent players to not hoard EQ or take leadership positions when they play two hours a month.

Oh wait, nope.

Leadership flags should implement some sort of system where if the character doesn't log in at least _ hours a week, then you get a warning e-mail, then a couple weeks later, deletion. That would take care of the crappy leadership hours I see some people have all the time and the hoarding EQ.

If you don't have time to play, don't take a leadership position.
