So, I may be wrong on this, but last time I tried ordering a NPC that I controlled to aim upper or lower, it didn't really do anything at all. The NPC still acted according to their usual AI, that is switching between upper lower and mid.

Is ordering NPCs to change their aim (which i'm almost 90% it's not working) a bug, feature or just simply not thought of yet? I've never seen any posts about it, or I could just be being a newb again and be doing it wrong. Thanks for the input guys.

You can order NPCs to different stances, or mode stun/kill, but you can't order them to aim.

The way NPCs behave makes ordering them to aim a waste of time.

Then a request for a modification:

Perhaps there should be some kind of toggled setting possible, akin to 'Do what you do best,' or 'Follow my lead.' The difference is it would toggle allow a NPC to be doing either its default AI or only what it is ordered to do (that it is possible to do). (Or at least a lesser % it will do its AI and a greater it will listen).

order NPC skills "You order <the guard> to use its best judgement."
order NPC commands "You order <the guard> to follow your lead."

Just a thought.

If anything, things are moving the other direction. Due to various problems I've heard about it, you may not be able to order NPCs to change between stun and kill in the future. I'm undecided.

IF you do this, please set pets to default at stun. Cleaning up after pets if you're using auto commands is a pain.

Thank you!

Making pets stun at buy is a good thing even if he doesn't do this:P

Well. There's bought pets, there's pets you tame that should toggle to stun if that's the case, there's summonable pets.

I'm of the opinion anything under control of a PC should change to mode stun. Including other PC's.
