While reading another thread I came across a post mentioning how obscenely easy it is to get huge piles of gold in this game.

I really don't get this you can't make money at low levels, crap. I am just now at lvl 10, and I already have 5 obsidian (none of which was given).
Yeah, that's the one.

Well, stop me if you've heard it before, but I think I've come up with a wonderful little solution to both this and one of SK's realism problems with one coded stone: Only humanoid enemies should drop coins. Why is it that zakami beasties and Random Wolf C drop gold when they die? This makes no sense and, honestly, makes the game far too easy as it is. Instead, they should drop raw meat, broken paws or other such random parts you would actually expect to find on a monster. Or even nothing at all, since some classes can Butcher their corpses to get usable items out of it in the first place.

No thank you. Some people actually have to kill things to get coins. Some people don't get every spell and skill mentored. Some people don't know how to farm because they're new to SK or lack the "skill" (if you can call it that).

It is a game it doesn't have to make sense. Not everyone can main a pile of coin, recent changes have made it hard to sell crap since there is only 1 or 2 stores that buy stuff now. Also with this economy everything can go up in price.

Make a magic class and see how much money you keep. It is really easy for some classes to make coin while others are very poor in comparison.

Also ever played Final fantasy? D&D, WoW, WoL? If the answer is no to all of these then I understand. However creatures have always had coin on them since the start of FANTASY GAMES.

If I was playing a non-griff char it should of been closer to 2 obsidian left. Most of my coin did NOT come from grinding. In fact, I almost got out of novice by questing (which is where I got most of the coin).

You should be able to get money at low levels, you have alot to train for and maybe some eq to buy.

This ain't WoW. No need to add a lot of the WoW-esque elements that just produce more grinding for no good reason.

At least, no point in adding more than what already exists.

Please don't change it to make money more difficult to obtain. I have found recent changes to the economy making it harder to make money. That and I've noticed less gold being dropped by NPCs. Of course it may just be location...

I wonder just how many people realize that the OP was in no way serious. Clearly, very few so far.

Sorry to ruin your gag Parnys, but there is a very real concern that the wrong people will take you seriously.

It's bad enough dealing with the economic woes in the real world, without coming to SK and having to think about them here as well.

Maybe the economy of SK DOES need to be fixed. But I don't think right now is the correct time to do it. It detracts from the escapism, at least for me.
